  • Those rates are so low!!!

  • @zollotech well ok

  • You had the Verizon phone on 4g network because i could see you're network on verizon phone

  • @flavio293619 neither of those phones have 4G

  • @zollotech Aaron, you're videos are great! Keep them coming!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 415 ping? ewww

  • motorola backflip btw

  • I get 3.8 down, .4 up on at&t 3g. Buffalo, NY

  • In Texas AT&T has the best service way faster then verizon

  • @blazinshotguns Lol texas

  • For me it's not about speed, but strength of the signal.

Case in point, I work in a warehouse and last year I had AT&T service running MLB At Bat application and had no problems.

Year later switched to Verizon (at&t had bad customer service, dropped calls).

New phone, MLB AT Bat app. and shock of all shocks, I don't get even ONE bar once I walk in the warehouse!!!!

    So lets review:

AT&T - Dropped calls, great data availability.

Verizon - Call reliability, BAD data stream.

  • @blazervb I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER had a dropped call on at&t in my ENTIRE LIFE. Seriously, no joke. :)

  • @bconover93 Do you have an iphone? Because that's what I had.

  • @blazervb No I don't. oh... the "Death Grip". That's a huge design flaw on Apple's part. The 4S supposedly fixed that. as long as you're not driving through a dead spot or walking into a basement, you should be good on any other phone. :D

  • Verizon Pros: Great coverage in U.S. Good selection of messaging phones unlimited data plan Cons: Not cheap can't use any of the phones internationally weird keypad on messaging phones At&t Pros: Nice smartphones multi-tasking can use every phone internationally Data speed Cons: Dropped calls Coverage sometimes No unlimited data anymore
  • Verizon 4G LTE is the only legit 4G service available.. The rest are just gimmicks..

  • @sirus804 Not anymore. AT&T officially launched it's LTE network, with it's HSPA+ network to fall back on. In my opinion that's the best 4G network configuration so far.

  • Lately i've been getting 4 mb/s on my Captivate on AT&T. It jumped up from an average of 3 when i got the phone. I'm not sure why but i guess I shouldn't complain.

  • This is an anomoly because you appear to be in an area where you have bars on AT&T. This is not the norm as anyone with AT&T that lives anywhere outside of what seems to be *your* house can tell you.

  • @cinnamondouche check other reviews and you should see similar results. Verizon is slower in just about every test on most tech sites who have compared them.

  • @zollotech my droid x gets 1.5 mbs per sec on ful bars and my sisters att iphonegets .7 mbs per sec

  • @cinnamondouche Sorry dude but AT&T's 3G speeds can get up to twice as fast as Verizon's. AT&T is faster.

  • These speed test comparison are irrelevant. Verizon and At&t speed varied depending where you live. Verizon is a excellent in some areas and does poorly in others. Same with At&t. Try signing up with a provider that satisfy your lifestyle.

  • what city?

  • i say you test them in every day work hours ... i dont know why att says they have the fastest 3G network i have seen a lot of network speed test and verizon almost won them all

  • @VerizonMan001 I can do that, but most tests with iPhone 4 show Verizon is slower, but voice calls are more reliable and better.

  • @VerizonMan001 But, Verizon did say they had to slow it to cover all the Verizon ones, and even Cnet and MacWorld said Verizons IS SOOOO much slower on the new Verizon iPhone 4

  • @VerizonMan001 I have never seen Verizon has faster 3G Speed test regardless on Device. do your research. Despite what they "say" they have more 3G Coverage. ....

  • @VerizonMan001 AT&T is faster because they utilize GSM/UMTS and EDGE networks which is proven worldwide to be faster than CDMA.

  • Nice comparsion, but what is funny that in Poland where i live i can get iPhone in all 4 main carriers, there are no any sim locks, and i can get iPhone for 400$ on two year contract, 30$ unlimited data plan. S this excitment for verizon is so funny for me :D

  • dude At&t is the worst network, heck i tell you

  • Can you test it with a Motorola Atrix on 3G.

  • @yaotly1 I'll try once the Atrix comes out.

  • @zollotech thank you very much.

  • Can you test it with a Motorola Atrix. Please

  • Ahhh okay, well then that's definitely interesting lol. But yeah looking forward to that upload, though the only perk of verizon is now the wifi hotspot, but everyone I know who owns an iPhone (including me) uses both data and voice simultaneously. If and when 4.3 comes out with wifihot spot for att in march, could you make an upload on that too please?

  • there is a bit of a flaw though in your test... you're not equidistant from both towers so it's not entirely fair. at&t by my house has fairly poor reception because the tower isn't that close. on the other hand verizon by my house has reasonably better reception because the tower is a lot closer. i also live right next to some hills but that only goes even further to location rather than network... still a good test though.

  • @ignoranceisbliss27 lol hadn't quite finished when i posted, but so yay lol you referenced it as network coverage too :P

oh and hey again, the occasional comment here and there lol

  • @ignoranceisbliss27 the towers are about as equidistant as you can get now that Verizon put a new tower near me. I plan to do a different test with the AT&T and Verizon iPhone if I can.

  • When 4G is available for both networks, you should compare them

  • @RyansTech2011 I'll see what I can do.

  • use same cellphone is better comparison....

  • Hi Aaron, this is really very helpful because im considering the Verizon Iphone, i wonder if the OS makes any difference in the speeds that your testing.. But i guess that it also depends on if your in a area with strong signal etc.

Do you plan on getting the Verizon iphone for personal use over your current ATT ?

  • @richxps Glad I could help, no plans of getting a Verizon iPhone for me personally, but I do know someone who is getting one and I plan to do some comparisons when it comes out.

  • If you come to Miami in the area where I live, you won't even get near 1MBPS download speed with AT&T's 3G. It's even worse than dial up, but after 1am the speed does go up more than 2MBPS download speed. Upload speeds also vary, but I get almost 1MBPS after 1am. I wanna see a speed comparison between the two phones you just showed :)

  • nice

  • @Manaass It would be nice if you learn how to use correct grammar and punctuation right before you put up a comment.
