I'm really sorry you're going through this. To get the rug pulled out from under you after

getting psyched up for surgery would really piss me off too! I think your doc should explain his reasoning to you until you're 100%satisfied and then seek another opinion. Keep us posted! Take Care, Laura:)

hey awesome trip...but bad news from the doctor. honestly, i would seek a second opinion from a different surgeon. not so they'll just say yes but for your own safety. i liked the sleeve surgery too but i had the bypass because of my diabetes (which i don't have anymore! yay!). my fingers are crossed for you!!!!! keep rockin!!

Hey Hon. Sorry this is being thrown at you now. I had horrible gerd before surgery and now it rarely flares up. Stand your ground about what you want. Ask him to explain in detail why he's changed his mind. Good luck.

Oh no!! The reason they are even approving me for the surgery is my GERD. It's so horrible sometimes that I have to sleep in my recliner. You had some great advice and I would see another surgeon if need be. Why is it taking us so long to get to the losers bench?? lol

Awe that sucks....I had really horrible gerb before...after the first 30 pounds....it was GONE! BEFORE SURGERY. And I have had no issues at all. And MINE WAS BAD, I was on so many medicines and takinging the max dosage 2-3 times a day and it was never under control until the weight loss. I hope you can get your doctor to get this in order soon! Your in my prayers girl!

I have a minor hiatal hernia which caused serious GERD...so much so I had to have polyps removed from my vocal cords twice because the acid fried them. I no longer have GERD now that I have lost weight. I did have RNY. While you think you know what is best for you, I would get a second opinion from another surgeon before any decision is made. I hope this doesn't slow you down...I hear people have hernias repaired all the time during surgery and by the way, I had gerd went away after surgery. What's up with your doc? Do you need another one? Is he saying that he won't do it? I think you need a face to face consult on this one! hope it gets better! hugs,jane

I had a hiatal hernia repaired during my lap band surgery & didn't even know I had one and my gerd is gone..I wish you the best & hope all works out..(big hugs) Becky
