wow lol, thats janet paschal? i have long wondered who was the beautiful female singing on that album. now to put a face to it, i'm just amazed. if ya'll havent heard that album i really suggest you find it because its 100% perfection.
Let's see this was in 1975 and shortly thereafter the Lefevres "evolved" into the Rex Nelon Singers. Ronnie Hutchins was replaced by Rodney Swain. Uncle Alf retired on alto and Kelly Nelon took his place. Eva Mae also retired. Janet Pashal was singing soprano and Rex Nelon on bass. I know that was the lineup of the Lefevres that became the Rex Nelon Singers in '76. So chances are this is Janet, but she's just so much younger!
I have some old 78rpm records of the Lefevres that are just priceless, they were and even to this day another group that were just number one in my book...sweet folks to the bone.
This song is such a blessing. I hum it every day when I go to work. It is a great song and all the remixes stink. Nothing compares to Uncle Alf LeFevre on alto. He has such a soothing voice. Thanks, Arvin for playing such a beautiful tune.
You are so welcome this is also one of the first songs I ever played on my radio show back in 1975 on WWMO FM this number was always on the request line.
I love this song. It was a big hit back in the 70's and several groups did it. I forget about Ronnie Hutchins singing with the Lefevres a few years after leaving The Inspirations in 1973. Rex Nelon later bought out the Lefevres and changed the name to the Rex Nelon Singers. I think Eva Mae played piano.
Yes that was the good old days I was working when this came out at WWMO fm in Reidsville ,N.C.I played this song so many times, and also when I was at WPET in Greensboro,N.C. I want you to know this is still one I love and enjoy and I do not think any of the remakes by other groups holds a candle to the way The Lefevres did this classic...this one you truly feel like leaving here ..GLORY!!!
OK, the female lead isn't Janet Paschal, its Teresa McNeill Burrell.

The part about "going past the moon, the stars & the planets" is 100% unscriptural but I have always liked the song anyway - lol

Yes, just to confirm, the lady is Janel Paschal. The name of the group was changed from The LeFevres to the Rex Nelon Singers in May of 1977.
