this was back in 07 im both a Megadeth and a Metallica fan so yes call me the foul thrash metal love child, but Dave Mustaine is over that he went on tour with Metallica in The Big 4 he hugged each band member onstage so I think that Dave is over that. I saw Megadeth live at the American Carnage tour and he started talking a little more now.
i dont get it. in metallica, dave loved to talk when james wouldnt. but after dave got kicked out, james started talking, and dave just got quieter. Granted, music from both bands have been slowly changing, megadeth's for the better, and metallica's for the worse. im just glad we have both bands
He actually said that when I saw Megadeth here in Sweden last year.. And I kind of disagree. Most people don't like 2 hours of straight music with no interruptions. We, fans, want some kind of interaction with the band. So the vocalist speaking.. whatever is better than nothing. And especially listening to a wise man like Mr. Mustaine is always enjoyable.

Between songs at one point, Dave said "we give ourselves to this, some of us even give our lives to this", and without him having to say another word, the entire place started chanting "Dimebag". Between songs at one point, Dave said "we give ourselves to this, some of us even give our lives to this", and without him having to say another word, the entire place started chanting "Dimebag". It was amazing. You don't get that sort of unity in pop music.

Slayer's music is fucking terrible, and no amount of "big four" talk is going to make me think otherwise. Their riffs are boring, the solos are shit, and the vocals are laughable and half of their songs sound exactly the same. And don't even get me started on Cannibal Corpse.

Dude a lot of Slayer songs have really good riffs. No, I mean seriously, you need to listen to more of their songs than the possibly one or two that you have listened. No, hear me out, even if you've listened to all of their songs, to say something like that really does prove you haven't ACTUALLY listened to them. Slayer is actually REALLY good thrash/speed metal dude. I can't reiterate enough how wrong you are to like metal and not Slayer. I mean atleast admit how important they are.

Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer are all the same style. That's why its wrong. Of course, they have written songs outside of their shared style, but if you like Metallica's and Megadeth's first albums, then you have to like atleast ONE Slayer song, or else you are doing something wrong. Also, that one song would be Raining Blood, obviously.

But saying that all three of them have the same style is like saying Linkin Park and Disturbed have the same style just because they're both nu metal. In my opinion, Slayer's vocals are completely incomprehensible, the riffs are way too chaotic, to the point where you can barely tell what's going on anymore.
Also, I'll take something like Chemical Warfare or Angel of Death over Raining Blood any day. I can't stand Raining Blood.

Dude I know that sometimes Slayer sounds lke what you described and they do it on purpose because they are sick, but not all of their songs are like that. You need to stop being prejudiced against Slayer and listen to most if not all of their songs. If you don't want to do that, then just admit to yourself that you don't have the heart for Slayer, which means you don't have the heart of true metal, which makes you a poser. No offense.

Great instrument work Slayer may have, but I personally can't stand the lyrics or vocals. I'm not much for all that hell-ish stuff. I doubt Slayer wants you turning away potential fans by driving them away with your immaturity.

@narutoguy56 I personally think that serious Megadeth fans have a reason to hate Metallica, considering all the drama that ensued between the two groups. Neither were in the right, but I can't stress enough, that Hetfield pulled a serious dick move with the writing credits.
I will say, I love my classic Metallica, and I'm a Megadeth fan through and through. I won't bash Metallica, but I will say they've gone down the tubes over the years. It's a shame, really.
