Its sad to see how strong prejudice was then compare to today, only different in some ways. Even the P.D. has prejudice cops who love to make minorities feel like dirt and some would get arrested for something that doesn't exist.
I was a young girl when I first watched the billy jack movies and I look up to the billy jack character & had a crush on him. for what he believes in it's not portraying this country to say that people in power are bad & corrupt tom is trying to wake people up to whats going on and how bad things are & how bad people are treated & he really does stand up for human rights & has done alot maybe not the same ass kicking stuff as his alter ego billy but in speaking up for everyone & helping them.
they are trying to be passive but are forced to act because people threaten to hurt the ones they care about there not saying that there no going against there passive nature and crying over a movie isn't bad it means you care and a lot of the stuff in the movie really happened and tom just changed events around and added fiction . I'm don't want to hate people or hurt them I want to be peaceful but it's nature to get angry & fight back when bad things happen to you, people around you & family
Alas i suppose you are right lonnilovely, but kung-fu is obsolete, it has been replaced with guns, bombs, tanks, planes and other things, and for the standing up for whats right, you should think before you act, if it is clear if you disagree you will be oh lets say, drawn and quartered, then its best to STFU and keep your head down.
I don't believe one person can solve our problems. I believe we all live in one world and we should all care what goes on it it. I agree that Billy Jack is obsolete in today's world. I think it would be great however if we could stand on what we believe. Can't keep my down I am a cop. But I will do my best to stand for you. Maybe you can do your best not to draw and quarter me for believing that you are important enough to stand for.
And listen, now, settle down, because Billy Jack loves you too! And you too Uncle Remus, and you too Aunt Sally! Oh, let's jest all sang a rousin' negro spiritual!!!!
Where are they? In JAIL! Didn't you see the end of the movie or were you too busy crying yer little eyes out (over a movie!!!) The law today doesnt allow you to go around dropping the vigilante kung-fu fist on people. You end up IN JAIL! So dry up and settle down and act like you know something. Fooling us like that will keep you in high spirits, no doubt! Sheeeeesh!
I know that more people should stand up for what is right in the world, a kung-fu fist ... opposed to drugs, bombs , guns and so on... maybe you need rethink. As far as a movie making me cry, I am glad that I have the emotion and heart left in me in the world of cruel and uncaring to be able to cry, even at a movie.
I would love to keep this banter going but ...I simply agree... you and I are different and that is what makes the world as it is. I like me and I hope that you like you Peace Out
Yes, correct you are Dieselboy. Boong Soo-Han was fight coordinator, advisor and stand in for Tom. Sadly, he just passed on to that great dojang in the eastern skies not long ago. There is a tribute or too on the YT! Bong also wrote a book in the 70's called HAPKIDO (Ohara Publishing)
Moreover if you look closely under the brim of the hat in slow motion sequences you can see the person is "Asian"--it's Bong Soo Han. The hat was purposely set low on the bow in an attempt to conceal the stand-in from the audience. Also, Bong is a bit thinner than Tommy.
I also thought it was interesting that this cheese-fest of a movie, seeks to teach us the futility of violence by violently resolving every single conflict in the movie
Oh My God. Tell me that you are not THAT fucking confused in life, Oswald! This was, as YOU pointed out, a M O V I E! Movies are for ENTERTAINMENT, NOT ENLIGHTENMENT!!! Why do you libs think movies "teach" things??? Pull your head out your ass and smell the coffee grinds, Cupcake!
My point cheesedick was that the libs ( socialists actually) went and made this movie that was all about non violence that had one of the most violent plots ever.
As for movies not teaching read the comments asswipe. Youve got people right here talking about how this movie impacted their whole life.
You need to get your head out of your boyfriends crotch, swallow and come back to reality
Cheesedick...let me see...how would you possibly have garnered an opinion my taste of my...OHHH OHHHHH!!!! Brucie, say it aint so!!! I though it was a queer wet dream!!! OOOHHHHHH KILL ME! KILL ME NOW!!!!!
I thought it was interesting that the movie proves George Bernard Shaws observation that " We (Jean & the kids) are only able to sleep peacefully in our beds at night, because rough men (Billy Jack) stand ready to do violence on our behalf" .
I've got this movie on VHS I watch it ocassionally for a good laugh
This was my favourite song and film for quite a while as a young lad. He was like an early Chuck Norris/Rambo character only his role had more dimension. He abhorred violence. Not real common for an "action hero," huh?
There's a prequel and a sequel or two. All are entertaining and thought-provoking; Excellent examples of low-budget, independent filmmaking.
You've got to see the whole movie. It's a great film.
Bizarrely, though, Dr. Johnny Fever from KRP in Cincinnati is there, looking just as old he did decades later, in an outfit that can only be described as fruity.
There is a reason this hits home, and we should all be ashamed for knowing that reason, and doing nothing about it. For those who do we refer to as heroes, for the rest of us, We miss you and honor you Billy Jack, in a time like we are now, back then, you were a quiet force, which refused to accept that which the world said was ine"vet"able. May your ripples become waves, to bring about the change we all seek, while we view this simple testament to beauty, grace, and the truth.

Look up Bong Soo Han- as far as I've read, he doubled for Tom Laughlin for some fight scenes, as well as instructing him in Hapkido.
