  • 15 year old me would love this movie. 15 year old me also read 1984 and Animal Farm. Back then video games we're only just beginning. Now we have games like Bioshock and Half-life. ICO, Shadow of the colossus. Video games that can rip your heart out. The biggest thing that is holding the medium down is people like these bozo's who think Video games are all vapid experiences. That 'It's like a video game' is an insult. This at a time when more and more games could teach Hollywood a thing or two.

  • bad movie, great porn

  • These guys hit the nail on the head, and all the people saying that "they just didn't get it" must be kidding themselves. This movie was so utterly stupid, incoherent and juvenile that it made me angry walking out of the theater. Angry that Hollywood is STILL letting this overly ADD manchild of a director make whatever the hell he wants with no restraint while directors with true talent like Duncan Jones struggle to find work. No metaphors, no empowerment allegory, just video game nonsense

  • Haha these guys are as bad as they claim Snyder to be! The irony is fucking hilarious! Keep it up, douchebags, I'm in stitches!

  • You guys are the most retarded bunch of reviewers there is.

Just because you can't enjoy something that is presented to you, you diss it, you speak of 13-25 year olds gamers in a patronising way, well in high school and throughout life, kids bully eachother to feel better about themselves.

Seems like this is what you're doing.

Bag it because you are incapable of taking a movie for what it is, eye candy, action scenes and some more eye candy.

A good watch for males who have imagination

  • "Zack Snyder your a 44 year old man making movies for 15 year old boys" pretty much sums up Snyder

  • 12 girls are worse...

  • The movie had great visuals and music. But it was so utterly stupid. It was so spazstic, randomly throwing us crap so that there could be action sequences. The movie tries to act smart by throwing us quotes that are common sense. And theres is no charecter development at all. I honestly really didn't care what happend to the girls. So for all of you who are saying"why do people hate this movie" Thats basicly it. And don't say 15 year old gamers are the only ones who like this cause i sure dont

  • the chicks were hot,but the movie sucked bad

  • *continue from previous post* These concieted idiots have completely missed the entire point of the movie. It doesn't matter how many insults they throw at Zack Snyder and nerd-stereotypes, it won't change the fact that this movie was awesome.

  • @chibinekodemon While I agree with your comments about these critics.(which are terribly offensive) I don't Agree with what your saying. I wondered about these charecters cause the movie gave us like no info on them. The fact that i need to specificly pay attentions to scenes to get what is going on also means its a fairly terrible moive. If the movie wanted all this action they should have gotten a different story. I'm not trying to insult you. Im just telling you why people hate this movie

  • @TheMHandDSfan I get what you're saying, and I respect your opinion. I guess it just depends on what some people look for in a movie, and it's probably an acquired taste for others.

  • @chibinekodemon Absolutely agreed. They can shorten their user name just to "stupid". It would be dead on.

  • *continue from previous post* Sucker Punch really gets you thinking about the characters and the events taking place, which is what a good movie is supposed to do. And with the right mindset, this movie can be very enjoyable. And I'm sick of these cocky, self-entitled dipshits who think they know everything about movies. They think that they can rant about and attack nerd-stereotypes and act like arsty drama-queens just to make themselves feel important. *continued in next post*

  • What is it with people hating this movie? Me and my sister both enjoyed it, and we are not "13-25 year olds who do nothing but play video games and dream of Sailor Moon breaking into their bedrooms and having sex with them". This movie is ridiculously under-appreciated and underrated. It has great visuals, awesome music, and a wonderful concept. It's one of those movies where you have to pay attention to certain scenes and character interactions to fully appreciate it. *continued in next post*

  • 300 was amazing. watchmen was good, and sucker punch was bad.

  • this review = grown men attempting to hide how turned on they were by the movie by pretending to be overly outraged at it. If you two really think you're film enthusiasts, unless you just critique movies in order to have a sense of superiority, you would recognize and appreciate how this movie was trying to push boundaries. or perhaps you really don't have the brains to digest where this movie was trying to go.

  • @danielkrye Or maybe you're just pretentious.

  • Sorry for the typos and spacing, but while i understanding the absolute bone shattering sledging you gave this film, i can't agree also sorry if you think i'm rude but i got to be honest.

  • of an middle aged man completely shitting on the younger generation, never mind that not everyone is a vapid fanboy or mindless pop culture automaton and saying how the world is now a steaming pile of shit because of films like Sucker Punch, i think you need to get yourself.

  • I'm calling you out Wade Major, mate i understand your rabid antipathy, the seering hatred you have for the film, but i got to disagree. I enjoyed this film, and i'm not a 15 year old fanboy playing video games in his mum's basement or whatever nerd cliche you pull out your arse. All i'm saying is that based on this review i find it hard to find any objectivity, if like this film am i mysogynistic asshat

who would know a good film if it came up and ripped my cock off. This really reeks

  • WTF thats all

  • Do all movies have to make sence? cant they just be fun??

  • Horrible review. If you're going to be snarky, please be funny. A video of a couple pretentious pricks who mistake volume and mock-anger for insight, opinion, and film knowledge is not entertaining.

If this pair of clownshoes dislikes films made for teenagers so much, then why cater their reviews toward that same demographic?

Yes, Sucker Punch stinks like a dumpster behind a deli on a summer day, but so does this review. Wait, Sucker Punch isn't Citizen Kane? It's not 2001? Really? Morons.

  • I'm a gamer. It sucked.

  • The best movie quote ever "A masturbatory fantasy for 13 to 25 year olds, who do nothing but play video games, and dream of Sailor Moon breaking into their bedroom and having sex with them" and from the film trailer, I can't agree more.

  • @pypeworld u don't masturbate? dont have sexual fantasies? no wonder u would enjoy 2001!

  • @xxturboweixx Seriously?! your making infantile masturbation jokes, because you don't have the brain capacity to enjoy an intelligent sci-fi flick , you best stick to watching kiddie cartoons.

  • I really like you guys, but this review was terrible. I saw this film, and i saw flaws in it that you guys didn't cover, but i also think you missed why a non pervert like me, enjoyed it. it was visually amazing, and fun. i enjoyed the dream with in the dream scenes and the action scenes in this movie were fantastic and exciting(not like that pervert).now does this make me a pervert? i think not, it was indeed a video game and thats what it wanted to be, and should be judged by these standards

  • so what was wrong with this film again? All u talked about in this so called review is how 15 yr olds need to grow up to be just like u & how all men should b gay so women will like them. The only thing I got out of this review is a rundown of the storyline &that it was loud. u didnt address anything in the film like acting, or cinematography, or special affects all u said is u didnt understand it. This was a terrible review.

  • I 100% agree with you and I'm 13 years old! the year 2000 turned out not to be the end of the world, but the end of good movies. MOVIES ARE CRAP THESE DAYS!

  • he doesnt fly the planes god dammit you guys didnt even watch it.

  • stuck up pricks.

  • inflicted.... you guys are idiots.

  • whoever made 2001 should be sodomized to death.

  • @xxturboweixx Stanley Kubrick made 2001 which reinvented modern sci-fi cinema, and your an ignorant moron.

  • @pypeworld Say whatever u want, if u enjoyed 2001, u r a zombie

  • @xxturboweixx and your still a dimwitted moron.

  • 1. "Get a life Zach" LOL!!!! So true!!! 2. Japan...WAY TOO SOON DUDE!!!! And 3. SUCKER PUNCH SUCKED!!!!

  • I guess this movie wasn't for this gay couple. I other the other hand really enjoyed it.

  • The Owls of Gahoole was the total opposite of boring. That's just my opinion though.

  • Great video review.

It really summed-up my views on this film.

  • He does make a good point about what the other directors made at the same age though.

  • Even though I disagree with Wade for his view of the audience this is shamelessly marketed to, I do believe their assessment of the film to be valid.

Hollywood doesn't care about the effect it has on current culture as long as it can turn a buck.

The 80's culture that emphasized wealth, fame and the individual cultivated a lot of greedy scumbags who did whatever the could to get to the top dragging the rest of the country down with them.

Good times we will continue to suffer for.

  • About the part with us "losers", we're not the ones that got our country into debt. by the time we're as old as u screw-ups we'll be owned by china. you idiots know nothing.

  • i play xbox u asshole. and i do my own laundry.

  • A lot of people are hating on this movie but I just saw it and I absolutely loved it! Amazing picture, great soundtrack, awesome visual and special effects, fucking hot ass girls, nothing more you need to ask for.

  • Sounds good to me, cute gurls blowin stuff up. Hell yes:)

  • Wade/ although I agree with your take on these kinds of films, filmmakers like Synder are merely a product of the sadistic, greedy and arrogant generation that came before.

If something is wrong with the apples, you have to inspect the tree from which they grow.

15 year olds don't run million dollar studios, they don't write these films, they don't create poverty and frustration by cheating the market and sending jobs overseas.

Whose to blame for their world view and taste?

  • @mastmedia no 15 year olds don't care about anything

  • The action scenes were boring as hell! It was like watching some kid play a video game on the easiest setting with all the cheats turned on!! You know how boring it is to play the game with the immortal and unlimited ammo cheat on? Its like that.

Slow mo hindered the speed and intensity of the film. Too much slow mo made it boring and dull. No blood or gore when guys got killed. Visuals looked too fake and cheesy. Too clean and shiny. And the story was shit. Shitty ass movie.

  • Actually, maybe Wade and Mark can take solace in the fact that the film got beaten at the box office by Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2.

  • its is an OK movie...its a brain candy movie, if you want it to be more then what it is, your not going to like it at all.

And not all gamers are 15...lots and lots of us are way, way ,way older then that.

  • I love what he says at 7:15. I wish all men could hear this.

  • I don't care, I still wanna see it.

  • sadly, i don't trust you guys when it comes to these kind of movies. it seems you do this real artsy-renaissance play critique on films that are obviously simply made for the younger adrenaline loving generation that just wants a thrill.

  • @DaBearsManiac Being 19 and part younger adrenaline loving generation, I think these guys make valid points. People defending the movie say it's supposed to be a dumb action movie, but I don't think the movie was supposed to be that. It it was, it wouldn't have been so dark, it would be more light hearted and it wouldn't try to act like it had meaning. It's not always about being a "artsy-renaissance play critique," it's about seeing how well a movies does what it does.

  • @TEKITOcreations i totally understand what you are saying, but the simple fact that they think 300 and the watchmen were terrible films solidfies the fact they don't understand the audience or purpose of these kinds of films.

  • @DaBearsManiac I'm in the target audience of all of Snyder's films and I've haven't so much as liked a single one of them. Not everyone's guaranteed to like a film just because it;s designed to pattern to their age bracket.

  • @togio100 well that definatly makes you a minority in that manner, but its not just that. They have this idea that they are somehow better cause they'd rather see an Oedipus Rex rather than a Die Hard. In reality entertainment is entertainment and doesn't really shape your character one way or the other.

  • @DaBearsManiac That's a weak argument. Ones choice in entertainment DOES shape ones character.

And these guys aren't complete snobs about popcorn flicks. Wade like The Expendables and he and Mark both liked Predators. And from what I recall, those were two action-heavy films made solely to entertain.

What Sucker Punch doesn't have what those did is interesting/likable/existent characters and a story that doesn't talk down to its audience.

And I'm not putting you down for liking the movie.

  • @togio100 well i just have to disagree, if you look at those reviews they went in thinking it was going to be trashed and was surprised. so they definatly aren't looking at these films objectively. i mean they sounded like they had a vendetta against the director. like the audacity for them to say that he's not up to snub. this is the reason people hate critics, i mean what have they done to look so lowly on a director who's had success.

  • @togio100 also, i have to disagree with you in that your source of entertainment reflects your character. that's not true at all. at one point in history, emperors watched the gladiator/slave fight for his life in a arena. yet, on the other hand, people like adolf hitler and joseph stalin were lovers of fine art. So you see, liking a form of entertainment neither reflects your intelligence or character. its simply a personal preference.

  • @DaBearsManiac It's also just kinda insulting... they say that it's made for 15 year old boys... but I'm a 26 year old girl that happens to like t&a... my generation loves this video game/ movie style... I feel like we need a represenative for the under 30 demographic... I haven't seen this yet... but this review hasn't given me any movie related insight... just insight on the thought process of an older generation...

  • @AppleCore2d Yeah, I don't suppose they talked enough about what actually took place in the movie. Still, I'm of a younger generation, and I heartily agree with them. The "15 year old" part may have been inaccurate, but I think they were more attacking people with the mentality of a 15 year old boy: no responsibilities, video games are everything, humor is best when it's stupid, and women are better the hotter and more naked they are.

  • @NerdilyDone so, how old mentality do u have?

  • @xxturboweixx Oh, part of me is about 70, and the rest is around 25-30. I like logic in a way only an older generation still does.

  • @DaBearsManiac These guys understand the true art of motion pictures. Films where not created to simply mash up 15 year old brains, they where made to tell deep stories so that people could escape reality for a while. When I was a kid I loved to watch classic Disney films like Pinocchio, and now Disney Channel is raping my childhood with things like Hannah Monatana. True art is intelligent, not just stupid like Sucker Punch.

  • @TheNile182 what you call "stupid" other people call fun. like the saying goes, "to each his own". just cause you liked pinocchio doesn't mean somehow you have a firmer grasp on logic, reason, and cinema. It is what it is, but i would WATCH the movie before you went off their word, which i assume you didn't.

  • @DaBearsManiac It's obviously made for that certain type of audience. But they're doing a review based on THEIR opinion of the movie. should they change their opinion of a movie just because its not aimed towards them? it's not like they WANT to hate the movie.

  • @MatthewLedZepfan did i say that they couldn't have an opinion?? i just said due to their disposition, i don't trust their opinion on these kinds of films.

  • @DaBearsManiac I know you never said critics shouldn't have an opinion. What I meant is that if the younger adrenaline loving generation can love simple movies like Sucker Punch, then more mature audiences shouldn't have to dumb themselves down just because it isn't intended especially for them. The one thing I don't like about their review though is when they called Zach Snyder an idiot, that's too hostile. But I do agree that movies like Sucker Punch contribute to the dumbing of cinema.

  • @MatthewLedZepfan yeah you're right, this movie certainly isn't a cinematic vahn gogh, but that doesn't mean its not good entertainment. that's what i feel they left out and that's why i don't think it was a fair review

  • But how is it not a "fair" review? It's not like they're against entertaining movies. It's a fair review because they explain WHY they didn't enjoy it on an entertainment level. They just think that movies can be entertaining without being completely repetitive and mind-numbing. And I'm totally fine with you disagreeing with them on the movie but it makes no sense to say its an unfair review just because you disagree with them. They're entitled to their opinions just as much as you and me are.

  • @MatthewLedZepfan Once again we're back to this. Like i said, i don't mind they have a certain disposition and that the review is bias due to their preference. I SIMPLY stated, "..i don't trust you guys when it comes to these kinds of movies..". That doesn't mean they can't have an opinion, its just due to their BIAS against Zach Snyder and films in this genre, i don't think they'll give me what i need to know about the film. Which they didn't.

  • Alrighty then. I think we've come to an impass. haha

  • @DaBearsManiac dumbing down*

  • Original?? I doubt that,

They didn't say Kill Bill meets Inception for no reason
