I bet that although more then 70% of the population are religious, more then 70% of the students in mathematics or physics programs are agnostics or atheists. psychology and art etc are prob still 70%+ theists.
OK, I believe in microevolution but not macroevolution. Does that make me smarter still?
(My IQ is 138 - Genius Level). Oh I'm a Christian too. So I guess I throw the curve a bit.
BTW IQ can only be tested by Clinical Psychologists. All the rest are not a real IQ test. It is an average of your intelligence (covering many areas) you might be better at maths than visual/spacial etc. but IQ will average these things out for you.
Wisdom is more important. You can have a high IQ but not use it.
Excellent. Deftly handled, and I can't *believe* I wasn't already subbed. I find it amusing to consider this study in conjunction with the phrase "second semester Buddhist".
So do a whip around of all the YT atheists to fund it. Then the rest of us can laugh as we point out the study must be biased because the YT atheists funded it. :P
Interesting. I heard a psych prof once say that the best understood things in the universe were white laboratory rats and college sophmores.... I think studying the relationship between intelligence and religiousity is about as interesting as a study of the relationship between nose-length and religiousity. And yes, I'm guilty of euphemism :-)
I wonder if there might be a correlation between a natural ability to score well on IQ tests, and the development of arrogance or self conceit, which might result in a higher tendency to reject the notion that humans are designed to relate to their designer, which by default would qualify atheists as simply failed artificial intelligence experiments?? Just a thought. (copied from my response to the original vid)
I wonder if there is a correlation between the number of cupcakes you have ate and that fat face you have you ugly sob.
You definitely not Christian, but you definitely are fat. Go run you ass around the block and give the mouth a rest.

"I think studying the relationship between intelligence and religiousity is about as interesting as . . ."
I'm interested in the results of any truly representative sample on the topic. I'm very curious. I'm also skeptical.

That's part of my motivation for saying, "I'd like to see a study done that can be extrapolated to the general public. It would be truly fascinating."

"they study what they have at hand for cost reasons"
Sure, that's understandable. I'd just like to see a study done that can be extrapolated to the general public. It would be truly fascinating.
