  • get a life .

  • Lucille Ball is currently burning in hell for failing to obey the commandments of the Lord her God.

God hates Divorce and God hates Catholics! You, Lucy, are a FILTHY rebel against God!

  • @HepburnFlicks I'm sure "god" hates your comments more than Lucille Ball. Dang. I didn't know people like you still existed in the world. Relax and LOVE.

  • haha oh lucy .. what funny crazy things you run into! lol.

  • Lucille Ball; Verbal Papphammar på english!

  • I'm watching this episode right now on DVD! It's the season 3 premiere! Great way to start the season! :D

  • I really don't see what's funny about this. I feel like such a misfit.

  • Lucy and Vivian were wonderful together. You can tell they were great friends. They continue to make me laugh even today : ))

  • Not just she is the best at comedy - she has the greatest timing - but she is even totally perfect in the physical way - this number, then the clown number with Red Skelton etc etc... What a TALENTED lady Lucille was!!!

  • She is the most funniest actress I've never saw in my whole life.

    I'm laughted each time !!

    I love her. ************* + Favs

    Catherine xx ♥

  • @cather333

Lucy is probably the greatest comedian we have ever had in the U.S. She''s always funny and her show is telecast worldwide.

    Je t'aime,

    Bev

  • The BEST comedian of all times!!! RIP Queen of comedy!! :)

  • great lady at physical comedy!

  • LOL@ those expressions when she sits down, HAHAHA!

  • Lucille Ball is a class act! The only other person (or people) who could match her were the Golden Girls in the 1980's. But Lucy reigns Queen of comedy always!

  • THIS IS JUST TOOO FUNNY! SHE KEEPS HITTING THE WAITER LOL!!!

  • @latina232008 This is the First episode of the Third season, and the Official Thrid Season of The Lucy Show is being released on November 30, 2010!

  • Is this an I Love Lucy episode?

  • At Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills where Lucy L. spent her final days, she demanded all the hospital staff of 'color' be removed from her floor. True Story.

  • Comment removed

  • @allermenchenaufder um considering she married and had children with a hispanic man, Desi Arnaz, i highly doubt that. thanks for sharing though.

  • @allermenchenaufder i can't believe that after all remember in great train robbery the porter was "of color"

  • @allermenchenaufder , that's complete B.S. She had people "of color" working for her at Desilu, both behind and in front of the camera, and went out of her way to ensure black people were employed at Desilu at a time before the Civil Rights Act. Lucy and Gary's closest friends were Sammy Davis Jr. and his wife, Altovise. They were SUPER close friends. The young black woman she hired in the 30's as a housekeeper ended up becoming one of her dearest friends and remained with her until old age.

  • @allermenchenaufder , and when her longtime musical director, Wilbur Hatch, died in 1969, who did she hire a musical director of her show for the remainder of her run (five years)? Marl Young, a black man. I know a few people who knew Lucille Ball personally, and they had conversations about racial prejudice. It was a concept that was foreign to her.

  • Classic comedy. Physical comedy at its best!

  • why were some "Lucy Show" episodes in color and others (like the Lucy and Viv put in a Shower" episode) were in black and white?

  • @JaTraLu

The Lucy Show--like Andy Griffith, Bewitched and others—straddled TV's transition from black and white to color. Almost all TV programming was in black and white in The Lucy Show's first season in 1962-63.

But Miss Ball decided to have the remaining seasons filmed in color because she thought reruns would have more value that way. CBS, the network which aired The Lucy Show, didn't begin broadcasting in color until 1965-66.

  • Just an FYI, The Lucy Show - The Official Third Season is coming to DVD on November, 30, 2010!

  • This is one of the best series Lucy did. A true comedian!

  • 2:58 love that entrance and mooneys face!

  • This was Garry Marshall & Jerry Belson's first episode for the series. Lucy was impressed enough with their ideas for slapstick sequences [even though Garry was worried she seriously injured herself because of the "table sequence" they wrote: "Oh my God, Jerry, we've killed Lucy!!'], she insisted they create more scripts for her- and they did, right through the start of their "HEY, LANDLORD!" series in 1966.

  • Ive been to her grave in Jamestown Ny

  • The Second Season of The Lucy Show is being relesed on DVD July 13, 2010! It's available for pre-order on amazon!

  • This never gets old. How many could manage such a scene with total perfection today?

  • I just got a pair of old school roller skates two days ago...I know her pain lol. The swollen feet the pain....LOL! Still fun...And super funny clip thanks for sharing :D

  • Lucy: "I drove home. Boy, you haven't lived until you've shifted gear in roller skates!"

LOL Bless her! No one can make me laugh like she can. I'm literally in tears. Best there ever was. Miss her too ♥

  • Wait until Lucy tries to dance on these roller skates!

  • Subscrib to me!I have lot's of full i love lucy ep..s

  • LOL Vivian.. <3

  • who added the waltz music on when they are dancing? they aren't even doing a bloody waltz on the dance floor....

  • I was wondering if anyone has bought season two of The Lucy Show? Or, season two of Here's Lucy.

  • Season 2 of The lucy show is set to come out in July of this year. Here's lucy season2 is out, and it's pretty funny.

  • Lol...I'm only 24 but I grew up with Lucy. Greatest female comedian ever. I watch this and wonder....did Lucy wind up being the creator of roller disco!? Lol

  • @nlucas4 Yeah, but you know Charlie Chaplain was doing amazing things on roller skates 40 years before this.

  • @greg5566 , but did Chaplin do those things live, in front of a studio audience and after only a couple days of rehearsal?

  • @rachelazw I'm not sure what is the point of your question. "Live" and "in front of a studio audience" mean opposite things. She didn't do it live, she did it in front of a studio audience, which means she was free to make as many mistakes as she wanted; they were just edited out, same as any TV show or movie.

Anyway, just watch Chaplain skate. You will be amazed: v=KGaMBolRXNc

  • @greg5566 , my point is Lucille Ball had a tougher task than Chaplin in that (unlike what you wrote) she was NOT "free to make as many mistakes as she wanted." These days, a typical 22-minute TV sitcom takes about 3 hours to film, for the very reason you state: lots of retakes. But Lucille Ball didn't operate that way. She performed her shows straight through, like a stage play, and generally wrapped the filming up within 45 minutes. Retakes were very, very rare on her show.

  • @rachelazw Excuse me, but not NEEDING retakes is very different from being UNABLE to retake. Of course they could retake if they needed to. This wasn't live TV, like in the 50s. And she's not really DOING anything on the skates, just standing there while others pushed her around. You or I could have done the same thing.

Your claim that they couldn't do retakes if they didn't want/need to is just utterly absurd.

  • @greg5566 - What a dumdum reply. It has nothing to do

w the essence of 'comedy' itself. Retake or nay, this

    is classic.

  • @greg5566 , you apparently have no clue how Lucille Ball performed her shows. She rarely ever did retakes. Sure, she could do retakes if she had wanted to, but she DIDN'T. She treated shows like a stage play and felt an obligation to her studio audience to film straight through like theatre.

  • @rachelazw I'm not criticizing Lucy, I love her. But . . . let me keep it narrow enough that it's impossible to disagree with: Chaplin in the clip I showed you exhibited greater skating skill than Lucy in this clip.

  • @nlucas4 haha I grew up with lucy too and I'm only 20! I remember back in HS, we had to do some kind of character profile presentation in drama class on our favorite actors/actresses, and I did Lucy! Actually, I just discovered the wonderful world of classic hollywood this year, with lana turner and all the other classics. Of course I knew about marilyn and lucy, and some others, for years, so I have no idea why I didn't discover it before lol! But I discovered it now and I love it <3

  • I always wondered why, since they started filming in color with the 1963-4 season (though I don't believe they were broadcast in color by CBS until at least 1965-6), why they didn't make Lucy's house more colorful instead of keeping the anemic colors they had.

  • Does anyone happen to know what season this is from? Thanks in advance!

  • this is the first episode of season 3. The original airdate is in the description. I personally can't wait for this season to be released on DVD, as well as season 4, if they ever do get released. I haven't seen too many episodes from those 2 seasons and the most I've seen are in syndication (like this one) and a lot of lines/scenes are cut.

    Well, gotta go.

    Watch my videos.

  • She has very nice legs. I liked it better black & white.

  • Garry Marshall wrote about this episode in his autobio. He said Lucy went to the ER when she was supposed to skate underneath a table that was to be lifted by the waiters when she enters the room but they lifted it a second too late, causing Lucy to hit her head and Garry to yell to his writing partner, "OH MY GOD, JERRY! WE'VE KILLED LUCY!"

  • HAHA!!!

This comment made me laugh so hard!

    Thank you.

    Made my freakin day! =D

  • lucy is so funny! i remember watching this show!

  • this is cute and funny i love lucy

    very much

    jade

How I love it. She is sooooooo funny!!!

  • If you know what sims is good? Can someone post a Youtube video of Lucille ball and choose one episode of each series of I Love Lucy, The Lucy show and Here's Lucy?

  • A couple episodes of "Life With Lucy" is also on here if you want to watch those as well.

  • This is a really underrated-remembered funny episode of The Lucy Show - I'd forgotten it and have laughed so much over this one. This reminds me of what could've even been a great Lucy/Ethel Connecticut season episode. BTW, isn't that the same set used for the final-I Love Lucy season Barbara Eden-guesting episode?

  • What a wonderful talent she was RIP Lucy!

  • lucy forever

  • "jesus" ! I love Lucy !!!!! she's so funny !!

  • Lol, good comedian...real talent! XD

  • Great legs Lucy !!!!

  • The official first season of The Lucy Show is finally coming out on dvd, July 21st, 2009!

  • This video is so funny! Lucy is one of my favorite actress. She always makes me laugh!

  • where can i find season 1 the lucy show online for free?

  • Hi Heather23883! Try to find season 1 on You tube. I don't know of other sites that have it. I'm only familiar with You tube. I watched more of the I Love Lucy shows, I owned quite a few seasons of it.

  • The official first season is coming out on dvd july 21st 2009!

  • she makes me laugh harder every time i watch her

  • so true! she has no equal

and only four days' rehearsal from the monday morning she looked at that script the first time until this evening.

what discipline , and what dedication and timing

  • Yes, Four days rehearsal and a Friday night show. They were all amazing, but Lucy shined!!

  • She was the secretary at the bank later in this same series. They changed formats and setting after Vivian Vance left partway through. Initially Lucy owned a house in New York state and Viv was her tenant. Mr. Mooney was in charge of her trust fund. When Viv left, they moved to California and Mr. Mooney was Lucy's boss.

  • Lucy was one of the best physical comedians we have ever seen. That is what made her shows so funny. Also the fact that she would take the falls herself. I see this is from Ha! back when we had good cable channels unlike the garbage that is on today:(

  • i agree completly

  • what show is this is this the show where she was a securitary at a bank with Gale Gordon?

  • I think Im gonna wear roller skates to my sisters wedding now

  • hola,me podrias decir como puedo encontrar esta serie en español?gracias

  • Estoy cierto que haya una versión de esta serie doblada en español porque salió en Telemundo hace unos 18 años. Desgraciadamente, no existe en DVD.

  • i envy Lucy's legs! u can tell she was a dancer/showgirl

  • I thought I saw all of The Lucy Show episodes, but I never saw this one. Thanks for posting.

  • In the realm of TV comedy, Lucille Ball has no equal....!!

  • Thank you for posting this, Italianman. Lucy Show was my favorite tv show when I was a kid... and that was 40 years ago. I'm still laughing to tears with this! I was watching the show in french. Later, I enjoyed the original english version.

  • ROFL! Lucy was hilarious in this episode!

  • These colored ones are great.

  • I don't remember this episode from 1964, but that's why Lucy is the reigning Queen Of Comedy! This has got to be one the best episodes she ever did! And look at her and Gale Gordon dance--with her on roller skates!

  • Could You Please Put The whole episode on here? It would be great!!

  • rotfl,lmao,lol,and all that jazz!

  • Anyone have the episode they did for Christmas where they get into a fight an cut their green an white trees in half then at the end tie the 2 trees together?

  • I would absolutely LOVE for someone to post the Christmas episode! It's 1964, and black & white I believe.

  • I've never seen Gale Gordon so charming!

  • LMAO!!! Lucy was the life of the party or should I say Lucille was the life of the Ball!

  • never heard about this show...

    was it popular?

  • Yes it certainly was. Even with out Desi and Bill Frawley, Lucille and Viv made it work. This show aired in 1962-1968. In 1965 Viv left the series and Lucy moved to California in the show. She made three more guest appearances though.

  • hahaha theroller skating dance was so Falarious

  • I wish they would have released the older episodes like this! I love seeing Lucy & Vivian together again!

  • OMG I never laughed so much!

  • I happened to be in the neighbourhood, so i just rolled in...haaaaa

  • lol

  • lol

  • More Lucy Show italianman1992!

  • I Wish I knew where I Could get this Episode on DVD if any of you know please tell me

  • Episodes are on DVD, but there are random episodes in volumes. There's many of them.

  • Thanks for posting this. Priceless!

  • The Lucy Show is my favorite Lucille Ball program...

  • The first scene here, where Lucy has the skating outfit with the short skirt, you can see she still had great legs, even though she was in her 50s by that tme. She was always ready to show them off (during later seasons of the "Lucy show and "Here's Lucy", sometimes the plot called for her to wear a miniskirt)..even her last appearance at the Oscars, a month before her death in 1989, she had a gown slit up to her waist, and her legs still looked terrific.

  • This had to have taken an amazing amount of rehersal and choreography. Some of the later Lucy's were hit and miss but still there were these gems.

  • i always liked the lucy show better than i love lucy

  • Yay! Lucy + Roller Skating!

  • Thats the first time I have seen this and I laughed so hard! You know she must have practiced that so many times because she was such a perfectionist. I loved it! I wish they would release the seasons for this show.

  • The story is she didn't know how to roller skate until she did this show. So within a week, she not only had to learn how to roller skate, but to do comedy on roller skates. This was also the first episode Garry Marshall wrote for her. He claimed she broke a rib during rehearsals and he thought she would fire him. Instead, she gave him a phone call thanking him for a great first script.

  • Did they put this on dvd?

  • No they have not. I got this from a friend who had tapes of when this used to air on Nick-at-Nite back in the 90s and he burned the episodes on DVDs. There are only 30 episodes on DVD from the California-era of the show (1966 and 1967) Only two episodes from the first season are included in those 30.

  • I was only able to get 28 episodes on a 4-DVD set from Ross for $8.99, which I thought was a pretty good deal. This clip was not included though :(

  • Unfortunately, none of these early episodes have been released into the public domain, and CBS/Paramount hasn't released them yet. Hopefully soon, though.

  • None of the episodes in the public domain were "released" into the public domain. What happened is that some Paramount admin screwed up and failed to get the copyright on lots of episodes of several series to be renewed. It was most definitely not intentional. And I'm sure that person got fired.

  • Oh, I see. That makes sense. Is that why The Andy Griffith Show, Beverly Hillbillies and such all have select episodes in the PD as well?

  • Yes, that's the reason. I understand it was this same person was also responsible for those "Andy Griffith Show" and "Beverly Hillbillies" episodes, as well as some of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and a few others, falling into the public domain.

  • When Desilu went to the animated end title graphic for the 1966-67 season, they made one little mistake -- the old copyright notice was part of the main titles, and when they went to a closing logo with its own music, they forgot to put the copyright back on, not just for The Lucy Show, but for all the Desilu shows that season, including "Star Trek". The problem was fixed the following year after Desilu sold out to Paramount, but that's what most of the PD Lucys are from the 66-67 season.

  • @ddraven The official first season is out now, and The official second season is coming to DVD July 13, 2010!

  • @steven1660 Thanks for the info :)

  • What happened to Lucy after the end of the clip?

  • I think she roller-skated into a bush. I have to watch this episode again. She came back in all covered with leaves, twigs, etc . . .

  • I don't think your clip showed it.

  • mr mooney look like he's in pain.

  • This is a first time for me! (Seeing this scene, that is.) She was a masterful physical comedian, wasn't she?

  • OMG!Its Vivian Vance in color!

  • how did you get this scene? did you like tape it then put it on the computer some how cuse if so COOL

  • That's awesome! She must have been great on skates, actually. It would've been hard to do the scene, otherwise.

  • I love that scene!
