Maybe I'm just tired tonight but i feel like if people would LISTEN AND WATCH the video there questions would be answered:) My t's are all 3/4" on the upper end of the setup. The suction hose fittings are all 2" in with 2" vacuum hose.
I have a 250 gallon tank I'm converting now. Would one pump work with 250 gallon, and how about 1.5 inch hose and couplers do you think that would work or do i need the 2 inch and 2nd pump. thanks
Nice setup. You have the best type of collection system (vacuum). The next step is cleaning the oil and the best system for that is a good centrifuge. Do you have a centrifuge? I build and sell strong, high-capacity centrifuges for this purpose. A centrifuge will clean oil much better and faster than any filter can and you won't have to buy any more filters. You run biodiesel, but if someone else runs a mixture of wvo OR wmo with diesel, then a centrifuge is even more important.
Really cool! Excellent work! I wonder how difficult it would be to use the concept on 55 gallon drums for smaller scale? Screw on caps with plumbing and a fitting for compressed air - You gave me tons of ideas! Thanx!
Just saying, here in ny if you permanently mount your tank to you trailer, it becomes a piece of equipment with wheels like a cement mixer or air compressor and there is no licence plate and registration required to tow. Savings for me in ny about $90/yr.
Awesome set up !! I just ordered 2 vacuum pumps. I'm pumping WMO. I just started doing this and don't like pumps already. Thanks. What is the 55 gal drum for?
Where did you find your Thomas vacuum pumps from if you dont mind saying? I am interested in making one of these out of a 250g propane tank so I can keep it in the bed of my truck under my topper. I have learned alot from the 2 videos you did.
You might think about installing a belt driven vacuum pump on your truck engine some day? many diesels need vacuum pumps for the brake booster, you could run a 3/4 to 1" vacuum hose back to your tank the bigger the hose the better for vacuum, and build up vacuum on the way to town for free? look at a Chevy Diesel and see what vacuum pump setup they have? I know my 92 Ford Diesel van has a belt drive pump, just a thought.
@PaDeuceOwner29 Yes, vacuum collection is the best, and I have a good practical book partly about collecting wmo with a vacuum system. The book also has great information about using various oils as fuel, off-grid power generation and more. It's called "Alternative Energy Secrets". Check out my channel and web sites for more information. I recommend using an air compressor pump for vacuum and compression. You can get a nice yet inexpensive gasoline engine to run the air pump and collect quickly.

pretty cool setup, I'd add a hood over the motor but I suppose you don't pump during wet weather.
