WIC does provide breast pumps. They give you a initial hospital grade breastpump for a rental then they give you a second home breastpump for you to keep. The can of formula warns parents to follow the instructions because dilution can cause death.

WIC does provide breast pumps. They give you a initial hospital grade breastpump for a rental then they give you a second home breastpump for you to keep. The can of formula warns parents to follow the instructions because dilution can cause death.

some mothers are stupid. I was forced to not feed my child just one schoop and two onzes of water every 4 hours he tried to kill baby and me she was born anemic as was I. I walked to doctor he seemed nervous doctor threatened to call police but did nothing. eventually he lost custody and I divorced the criminally insane. My girl grew up without conscience empathy or remorse just like him. But I gave her what my own mother did not. I cared for her and educated her. I now do not speak to her.

@passion1029 I'm sure she was on WIC ,but WIC does not provide ALL the formula a baby needs to live ....WIC is supposed to be a supplement program not a food stamp program. Most people just give the baby regular cows milk once the formula is all gone.Don't get me wrong I think WIC serves a good purpose but they should give women breast pumps instead of formula vouchers.

BF issues are usually caused by poor information, lack of support, and not following proper BF management practices such as feeding on demand and not giving bottles till age 6 weeks. Most issues can even be remedied.

The proper guide to use for Breastfeeding and pharmaceuticals is Dr. Hale's Guide. Also LactMed is a good source as well online.

Formula is not a basic need. In fact, it is not a need at all, except in the most extreme circumstances. How about we educate and support mothers so they can make informed choice. If she had known enough to breastfeed I bet that would have been her choice. Let's start supporting Moms so that no matter their social level or education background, they can make the choices that are best for their children.
