Its intelligent design overall and good quality technology, HOWEVER, 1200g is too heavy. I wouldnt attach this unit to any motherboard mounted sideways! its too much stress. Honestly they are going to have to redesign Motherboards and also how they mount to use such a cooler.

@jesper770 Actually the Kingston HyperX T1 Black Series is much taller at over 63.5mm height (2.5 inches) with the heat spreader. The clearance you have with the Cooler Master V10 is approximately 48.6mm (1.9 inches). That's a bit more detailed information for those worried about your RAM fitting or not. Any heat spreader that adds more than 1/2 inch to the top of your RAM will not fit. Plus installing and removing RAM will require taking off the V10 from your mother board.

@EWColaCanada Some tests say it isn't, but I had both and I prefer the V10.

The V10 on my PC made the CPU run 2° colder on idle and load than the H70, so the difference was minimal there. However with the V10 the RAM and northbridge temperatures were much lower. The H70 doesn't blow any air on/over the MoBo, so that gets less cooling.

That being said, with a V10 you need to be careful. If you move the PC a lot, the weight of the V10 could overstress the MoBo. It's rather heavy.

One thing this review doesn't tell you is how the v10 compares with other coolers at it's price. It actually does not perform that great if you're looking to lower your temps for overclocking purposes. It is nice to have a cooler for your ram but you are sacrificing your cpu temps for it, which is not worth it.

The fact that this covers the memory makes it a bit of a turn off. The cooling part is nice and while I don't change/play with my memory much, if I ever had to, especially during the build process, when you're still tweaking things...I can't see having to remove the cooler every time you may need to adjust them. Or if you're one of those people that like to install a single DIMM for initial start up, this kinda makes that less feasible.
