    buen video sl2

  • VERY VERY IMPORTANT DRUM MOVIE SHARE IT WITH ALL YOUR DRUMMER MATES& CONTACTS BECAUSE IT MIGHT SAVE A LIFE OR MORE IMPORTANT A DRUMMERS ABILITY& CAREER. CHECK OUT & MAKE V IRAL THE 2PART MOVIE CALLED "DRUMBEATSTROKE"

BECAUSE S T R O K E IS THE 3RD BIGGEST KILLER IN THE WEST& 1ST CAUSE OF PARALYSIS SO SPREAD SPREAD SPREAD "DRUMBEATSTROKE"

ASK OTHERS TO DO THE SAME

  • IN A WORD " BEUTIFUL". COULD YOU DO AMOVIE SHOWING US POOR SOULS THAT ARE STILL IN THE DARK[ME] COULD YOU MAKE AN UBER SLOW FILM BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE ONE HAND&ONE FOOT ONLY SO IT WOULD BE GREAT TO ADD SWIVEL TO MY ARSENAL.

  • damn nice playing man!

  • your tatto sucks

  • Can you go from regular heel up at a steady beat and do a 5-burst swivel ?

  • @q34r34t

    yes, is possible

  • is it true that the axis engraving on the footboard is very sharp

  • @halabinono The engraving is kinda annoying if you play without shoes or socks on.

    saludos!

  • isnt it true that this technique can cause injury to your knees?? ive heard thats why George kollias doesnt teach it anymore

  • @techdeathdrummer i think personally, that it all depends on the person and how the swivel is applied.

for example, when i was first learning swivel i recognize that i felt some pressure on my knees because i was putting too much presure.

But now i think i've learned to play much more relaxed and this is solved the problem for elbows and knees completely :D

  • @techdeathdrummer it depends on how far you throw your heels out. if you flick 'em really far then you're gonna hurt yourself, but if you keep them close and under control (like Chire) then you shouldn't have a problem :)

  • @techdeathdrummer i found this in a kollias vid"I injured what? Ha ha, i heard nothing about it....Who says these things? Listen,Swivel is not a big deal, i think people get it too serious and get into it the wrong way. Nothing will make anyone faster except playing more and more... As far as balance goes, it worked for me and that's it. Concerning the possibility of injuring your legs, yes there is one as there is on anything on drums when people explain it wrong, or even make it a big deal.."

  • @popytherev yes i know you can still find this technique on YouTube but by teaching it I meant at clinics but yes i understand it doesn't make you faster it just distributes the work throughout more muscles allowing you to play faster more comfortably but if you swivel too far out it can damage your knee

  • @techdeathdrummer I used swivel for the better pat of 6 years and am now having joint pains in my knees. I have been relying more on flat foot/hip flex as well as much more calf movement. BUT I will also say I have a high impact job as well as did martial arts for 14 years as well as many other sports (I'm 25) so it HUGELY depends on the person, practice amount (do you stretch before/after). I mostly blame my tension from other things then the swivel, it just irritates the past wear.

  • tight or loose drum pedals?

  • LOL AT 2: 30 "wear old socks cuz the axis word will eat them lol"

  • how does that technique work

  • i want to know the spring tension and the beater angle, i got an eliminator, but quite heavy to do that

  • love that tattoo you got xD

  • That is insane! Great double bass work, great consistency!

  • very very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Would you recommend having massive calves of steel?? haha

  • when i play swivel its not for balance it helps me get to faster speds

  • Damn! I ever won't be that fast -.-

  • Damn.. i won't be ever that fast -.-

  • It looks to me like your tapping was already fast to begin with and the swivel is only to reinforce the speed and create power correct?

  • Brutal!

    Gracias :D

  • the DWs were louder mechanically, axis all the way.

  • as far as I understand you prefer to use swivel on actions over 200 bpm so what's the other technique? you're using on 3:25 and could you explain a bit about that one? cheers

  • This is amazing!

I have to say that -->Respect<--, buddy

How long were you practising to get 240 BPM??

  • damnnn , great, you have a band actually ?

  • swivel is bad for your knees DX

  • do you swivel from right you left, or from like right, to normal position, to right?

  • man i would hate to get kicked by him

    !!!! XD XD

  • Hey bro are you using the GP01 gibraltar practice kit? Im looking at getting one of those :)

  • Swivel is the shit. I use it for anything over 180

  • gj.

  • good stuff man.

  • great demo! i was having trouble reaching 160bpm's and some how i got it and i realized i was swiveling it. next goal is 180-200bpm's! I use Iron Cobra's i don't know how much heavier they are compared to DW and Axis but ill get it down. Thanks for this demo!

  • IM diggin the tattoo haha

  • hey man nice video. what are those practice pads called?

  • i've been hearing swivel is bad for your knee's... what do you think about that?? because i have been practicing swivel too but keep hearing its bad for the knees.

  • My DWs were loud too.

  • really cool video ... can you tell me what for beaters do you play ... i have also the axis al2 longboard but i acually will get more balance and a easyer way to play not so heavy like the sonic hammer beater ´they arent very good i think.... a lot people talk to me that ircon cobra beaters are the best for the axis pedal .. what do youthink =?

  • @666Shithead ya iron cobra beaters

  • dude could you help me to do this technique? i try and try to do it but i still dont get it, i have a single mapex pedal (the cheapest one) who came with my drumset...

  • increible

  • What kind of practice kit is that?

  • My friend who plays 240 bpm's told me to practice every day, develope my own technique and to not count on someone elses..With that being said,to all those who want to go fast, speed will come naturally with practice..I'm still working on my speed.I only do 160-170 bpm's so I'm nothing special..

  • What spring tension and beater angle do you use? I find with my double kick the left pedal always smashes the conector part :( And if i raise it any higher it throws off the balance wish they had independant beater angle lol. Thanks in advanced for your reply man!

  • I using Iron Cobra too, but they are short to heel-knoe technique, can someone tell me, how long learning this technique if can play everyday?

  • wena me sirvio caleta ver el video

  • i can 230/240 bpm on iron cobra with hell up, do you think it's possible to go faser or is better to learn swivel?

    btw nice video

  • I use pearl eliminators

And they good for the swivel technique??

  • thats bad ass man. I have the same pedals. do you have the pedal board set pretty high?

  • increible makina

  • how long did it take u 2 develope going that fast evenly

  • dude what's your VDL and spring setting like on the Longboards?

    sick video btw cheers

  • Webón máquina.

  • no way. ive never seen any1 play up to 240 on dw 5000s. nice. now i dont wana replace mine

  • @nightfoxteam check out brett batdorf hitting 16th notes at 290bpm on DW 5000's using the heel-toe technique, it's insane :D

  • hey does having 2 bass drums make a difference?

  • nice smiley on your leg^^

  • cool stuff man

  • It awesome that your leg just keeps smiling no matter how hard you push yourself! Haha, good stuff.

  • dude, this really helped :)

btw, is that smiley tattooed on ur leg?? if so then KOOL!!!:))

  • I heard that using the swivel technique in long terms will mess up your ankles and knees.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

  • @miniindividual Yes, George Kollias from Nile said it after consulting with a few doctors and the result was, that in long term it can damage your knee. He tried to avoid swiveling as much as possible, but after a while doesn't care anymore...:)

  • @Prazisions Each time you move your ankle to the side, it pushes the pedal down. So when you get higher speeds, You feel more control and balance. The other way to get that speed is heel- toe, but it much weaker.

  • Comment removed

  • what difference do the iron cobra beaters make compared to the sonic hammers on the axis pedals ?

  • Yeah he's not joking, the lettering on my axis pedals chew holes in my socks so quick it's insane.

  • Thanks to share this technique, help me very much, Salute from BRASIL!

  • looks bad for your knees, sweet speed though

  • U SIR ARE A FUCKIN SHREDER!

  • a sturdy chair/throne helps a bunch with swivel technique

  • I know what you mean dude, I ask myself the same thing. I see George do the two-stroke-per-side swivel, as well as the guy in this video on some of the blasts. What I've realized is you have to really be able to play these speeds pretty straight in order to do that. The one-stroke-per-side swivel is much more technique than actual speed, considering I've been playing about a year and I can hold 8ths at like 240-250. So i think the key is really to work on your straight playing.

  • 210-260 bpm, Im not sure if i need to work more on actually swiveling my feet or actually being able to play at high speed while swiveling my feet, does that make sense? In other words does the swivel motion by itself allow for the higher speed? Or are you acually able to play it regularly but you use the motion to make it more natural?

    saludos

  • how did you start practicing swivel before you got to those speeds. What is beginning practice method for swivel. How do you start?

  • @metallegion501 There comes a point (around 200bpm) where your ankle is the only thing that can go that fast. Some people say their heels start swiveling naturally. look up chris thorpe swivel. He goes a little bit in depth about it.

  • so you always do two and two ??

  • sick technique. makes me wonder what james brown's double bass would sound like lol. great vid man

  • this is pretty amazing video man! keep it up!

  • hey man great technique it looks like u've mastered it. and thanx for the vid demonstration im still trying to learn this technique to take it to high speed and u play very clean with the axis would u recommend getting them or the new pearl eliminator demon drive pedal im pretty sure u've heard of it..

  • i cannot say anything personal for the pearl demons sinice i havent tried them but axis is what everydrummer might need if is searching full adjustable pedals.

  • @neoideo I use the Trick Pro V pedals, They feel so much smoother than Axis, and are way better for quick adjustments. Personally I hated the demon drives

  • @neoideo I like 2 use my dw 5000 pedals

  • how did you manage to train your legs to them high speeds? cos i havent a clue...i can do about 200bpm double pedal

  • very good vid! What are your springtention?

  • are you using a nylon strap on the dw's?

  • ur doing 2 beat per swivel am i right?

    do u guys prefer 2 beat/swivel or 3 beat/swivel like George Kollias???

  • yes 2 per swivel,

for triplets + one foot blasting,i use 3 beats/ swivel

one to the left, two to the right. (right foot)

  • i have one more quetion.

im right handed so starting with my right foot, is it

    IN(right), OUT(left), IN(right), OUT(left) or is it

    IN(right), IN(left), OUT(right), OUT(left) ????

or is my first stroke suppose to be OUT?

  • its like the second you wrote

    IN(right), IN(left), OUT(right), OUT(left)

  • yeah thanks lol

    sorry if i bothered you

  • no problem always welcome :)

  • hahaha

'the axis word will eat them'

    your really really good.

  • i dnt know there is a SWIVEL TECH.

is these technique is more faster than heel toe.?

  • It's just about taste really. I think this technique is cooler though

  • Hey Everybody!

    Look at this guy,

    Little George Kollias.

    Crazy dude.

  • George Kollias?

He is the slowest drummer ever. :P

  • AXIS IS THE BEST 4 THESE STUFF!

  • you're very good

axis sounds a little smoother than the dw's

how long did it take you to reach this speed(until 200)?

  • i think it took like 3 months,

    (when i was learning drums)

  • really fucking good dude

  • Hola hermano

    Keep it fucking sick !!

    Muchas gracias de antemano !!!

  • Nice video! How long have you been practicing for? I'm currently using the heel-up technique since I found it to be the easiest, but I'm TOO SLOW!

  • 250 BPM!? this is why swivel is better than heel toe, you can go faster and the strokes are more even.

  • WOW dude, that was a sick vid

  • Nice! you have it down clean! i do the same but i seem to have more controll with shoes just like george does he uses some big ass nike shoes lol

    nice job though.

  • awesome dude,

you can hear the difference cos the axis sound much smoother and more even.

  • good video dude. i've been workin on the swivel lately, but my left foot still can't really do it. my right is gettin pretty good though. nice tattoo too haha

  • Comment removed

  • you prolly burn holes in your socks!!

    sick lol!!

  • hey men do you catch those speed without warming up your feet?just making that technique?

  • bro!! can i know what model of pedal are you using? and for you what is the best pedal?

  • do you play with accents? if you do, do they help you play double bass better?

  • yes i play accents they help you play the beat on time.

  • alright thanks dude

  • what practis pads are those? cause i bought the pearl pad and my axis does not fit, have you made any modifications to your axis or the pad itself to make the pedals fit?

and nice job with the video!

    keep on hammering

  • they are gibraltars, luckily they fit ok

but its true that those two round rubbers near the clamp of axis pedals are to big and may not fit everywhere.

  • Which pedal do you like more, Axis or DW5000?

And how long you play drums?

  • i like them both, they solid and durable, and they have different feelings which is good.

dw accelerators take good response for quick burst playing, and youi can also play fast with them.

i been playing for 7 years now

  • Q onda bro saludos desde MEXICO!!!!!!...TOCAS BN CHINGON..... oie nadamas un preguntota...tengo unos pedales Pearl Eliminator sencillos y me gustaria comprar unos Axis....me recominedas el cambio?

  • pues claro, aunque tambien deberias probar antes los pearl demon que salieron hace poco.

    saludos

    Cristobal

  • awesome video, how long have u been playing?

  • i started playing at 2002-2003

  • Yeah!!! COmpliemnts! super video!

    Saludos.

    Felipe, Visceral.

  • gracias amigo, saludos desde valdivia

  • Thats hilarious! The axis sign reallly does eat them!!!!!!!!I have a pair also!AXIS Rocks!!!

  • jaja

  • Great man... As someone said it's a little off, nevertheless great job. Have you tried to play straight using only ankle motion without swiveling? Is that swiveling saves energy or just it's your personal way of playing fast?

  • thanks,

the reason i use is because helps balance, also saves energy as ankle motion.

  • a little off, nice one though!

    practice practice practice. =)
