I really hate how everone is saying that Emily and HiT are the reason Duck hasn't appeared. No one seems to have noticed the little amount of time Duck in the seasons running up to season 7. If Allcoft and Mitton had stuck to the Railway Series, Duck would have most likely still played a role in the show. But it seems nobody has capabillity to see that they inadvertantly started the ball rolling in Thomas' state of decline. Oh well, ignorance is bliss...

I haven't seen this in years, but what the hell happened to Duck? He was engine number 8 and one of the Eight Famous Engines from the Railway series.

Emily is not that good of a character.

Duck is better than emily but what other stupid character would take her place if she was'nt invented I know it's hard to believe but maybe there would have been someone worse than emily.

And beside's the only reason emily stuck was because hit wanted a girl charatacter.

@turtlesandthomas They only made her that way from seasons 8 onwards. When she made her debut in season 7, she was a lot sweeter. I know, I hated when they did to her too. And Duck should be the rightful eighth main engine, he was in the books back when they were called the eight famous engines, not that stupid "Steam Team". They only included Emily so as not to be sexist because all the other engines are boys.

@turtlesandthomas I severely wish that HiT never took over this series. Duck would still be in his place and Emily would just be a secondary character as I'm sure the original crew intended. For God's sakes, Duck has the #8 imprinted on his side. We barely knew Emily, but like the other characters we actually knew; HiT raped what was meant to be her personality.... Fuck political correctness!
