I'm still not sure who Huang Zhong is referring to in this scene.

He only served Liu Biao, Han Xuan, and Liu Bei, and I don't recall Cao Cao having to do with the deaths of ANY of them. Anyone able to clue me in?

Hmm...I always thought he was referring to Guan Yu. Though he didn't serve him, he may have still referred to him as 'my lord'. Also, this battle is directly after Fan Castle, so that was what gave me the idea initially, and Guan Yu was the only Shu character that had died recently.

But if I remember, Guan Yu and Huang Zhong had some friction when they made the Tiger Generals, because Guan Yu thought Huang Zhong would be too old.

no, Mt Dingjun happened before Fan/Mai Castle because it was after Liu bei gained Han Zhong that he declared himself the Prince of Han Zhong. THEN after that Guan Yu attacked Fan castle.

i was always confused by this, and the battle of fan castle actually happens like right at the end of this one, or at least when wu betrays them, and liu bei is still alive at this point

Hmm...Good points from both of you. Fan Castle is listed before Mt. Ding Jun in Dynasty Warriors 3 which is why I thought it was first, so is it possible Koei made a mistake on which happened first? This game certainly isn't the most historically accurate in the series. :P

Guan Yu had dueled Huang Zhong and this made Huang Zhong see that Han Xuan wasn't worth serving and then he and Wei Yan had went to serve Liu Bei but always referred to Guan Yu as 'Sir' 'Lord' or 'General'

@Frankosisco He is referring to Han Xuan. This game gets a few things historically inaccurate, like COW COW for example. It's pronounce Sao Sao (almost) So in this game, Koei says that the Wei killed Han Xuan and Liu Bei saved them, when in fact, Wei Yan killed Han Xuan.
