I was wondering if you could convert a nitro rc car to brushless and if it matters if the motor is meant for on road, rock crawling, or off road? Also on a rc forum someone said that you need metal hubs, ball bearings, and metal gears for brushless is that true?
I have a Traxxas truck and I was looking to buy this motor and esc because it is cheap and I do not have a ton of money to spend on it but would it be better to spend more money and get a more reliable motor?
@electriclzombie Definately! Buy something a little bit more expensive like a EZrun, that believe or not somehow my buggy went underwater and it still ALIVE. lol
You should always turn your receiver on first before the esc when powering on. Turn the esc off first, then the receiver when powering off. I like your setup, im about to do the same thing, but with the 1/10 on-road champion car. I know the motor is pretty cheap so ill switch to the tacon motor also. I own a traxxas stampede(brushed),but im new to electric rc's(Nitro guy) and I just want something cheap to start with. How fast did you get this thing to go when it was running?

You can rebond it with red locktite. Its easy, and stronger than stock. Do a search for it.

At wat temp did you run it because those motors break in 110 or 120 degres Yang from ultimate rc haves a review on that motor

You put to much teeth on the pinion gear it works just fine on my sunfire chane the pinion gear to a 23T so it wont overload the motor
