As a Phoenix Coyotes fan.....this here is the single greatest Cinderella run in NHL history. Sweep the mighty Detroit Red Wings? Knock out the #1 seed Stars in 6? Sweep the team that beat perennial powerhouse Colorado and high-powered Vancouver allowing just a single goal? Push the Devils all the way to the seventh game?

It's a shame these guys didn't win. Sure, they won in 2007, but they were heavily favored by many to win it once Pronger showed up. Not a soul picked these guys.

Even though the wild lost, I was still very proud of my team. Not bad for a third year expansion =D. Esp. the two comebacks being down 3-1 in the series, boy it was a great playoff!

I have always wondered how Giguere would have done had it been a Vancouver/Anaheim West Final.

Given the way Giguere played that spring, it would have been fun to see Giguere vs. the West Coast Express instead of the one-hit wonder Wild.

Well, they intentionally reffed against the Canucks because they needed to have the game expand in California, who would you rather of had the Ducks face, the Wild who had limited skill up front, or the Canucks who had a hell of a scary first line and the Sedin twins with the lucky bastard who played on that line.

The 2003 Mighty Ducks playoff run is epic, this is not going to happen for years to come, sweeping the Red Wings, beating #1 seed Dallas, and allowing one goal in 4 games against the Wild and Anaheim being seeded as 7th. Plus Giguere's epic playoff performance, won't see that kind of Giguere for a while.

@chemicalculus wer're not going to see that gigure again i think...Toronto is still rebuilding and if he stays there (which it looks like he will) he eneds to wait at least 2 years before he can think about the playoffs. 1 thing about gigure though i've never seen him have an average playoffs. Hes' either had a great playoffs are good playoffs. Obviously the only year he had a good playoffs was the year dallas knocked them out a year after winning the cup in round 1 but gigure sitll did good

this was a great post season. ducks going to the finals,beating the WILD in western conference final. and just shy of the cup. i perfere this duck team over the one that won it because they played the devils in the finals not ottawa. NJD had more finals experience than ottawa. i hope kariya goes back to anahime and finishes his career.

That '03 Ducks team took EVERYBODY by suprise in the playoffs; we knew they were a very good team going in, but sweep Detroit?? Beat Dallas?? Allow 1 goal against vs Minnesota?? Took the Devils to Game 7?? No way anyone could've predicted it.

Ducks would fall short of the Cup in '03, but went all the way in 2007...
