  • beautiful, judgement is the Lords, all who due fe get paid will, one love Hail Haile Selassie The First

  • This was Sugar Minotts protest to the incredible ripping off that the reggae music producers in Jamiaca and England used perpetrate against their Artists in the 70s and 80s. Quite often the singer would get just a tiny fee for studio time and all the subsquent royalties would end up in the bosses pocket.

  • Thanks for the history behind the tune. Having context always makes the music more enjoyable. The message is so universal that is could apply to almost any labor dispute.

  • @FadahRon

And subsequently ripped the riddim and pretense from artists going back to the Derrick Harriot and the Federals?

Don't think you are clear on what you are claiming here!

  • @FadahRon

UB40's Labour of Love albums gave the writing royalties back to the artists. xx
