What ever happened to the good old days?? We were all so young and full of dreams. I fondly recollect on the shows we played together and the great times had by all. Forever in the shadows...Kyle Snedigar (To Die Alone)
* * * * * * WANT THEIR MUSIC??? * * * * * * THIS IS THE DOWNLOAD LINK TO THEIR 5 SONG EP - "What You Don't Expect...Can Kill You". This comes from my personal collection. I got this off of hxcmp3.com waaay back in the day. I wish that site still existed!! Whoever comes across this.....you're welcome.
@Greasenugget Don't get this the wrong way but I love you man. And there I was writing Sleeve today, asking if he could get his hands on it (and more importantly mine). I loved hxcmp3, too. I could spend hours on that website downloading awesome metalcore tracks. I still have a lot of those tracks. Unfortunately Into The Silence didn't survive one of my harddisk crashes. But now I get them back. Thank you : D
I used to listen to this all the time back in high school. Its badass to stumble across it years later. Any one else remember the trucker hat they had with a hanger on it that said "more fun than a back alley abortion"?
Man this song has been one my 'local favorites' list for years. Its still on my ipod. I never knew there was a video until tonight. This song is soo badass!
ok this band broke up like 5 years ago any one know what shena is doing these days does she have a new band????? let me know she is so brutal and so is sleeve, and as for mike(the drummer) You are a fucking douche
@charillz23 Last thing I heard about Sheena was from her myspace and that she actually was on the watch for a new band, but nothing definite beyond that. Sleeve moved on to a Death Metal band called Summon The Destroyer. But it's been a few years since he told me that, so I don't know if they're still together and if he's still in there.
@charillz23 Sleeve = Co worker + Black Cat Rebellion, Kashena = nothing (that I know of), Mike = Summon the Destroyer last I heard, not sure where now. As for whoever was asking about CD's, they didn't release any. You'd probably have to get a band member/friend to burn a copy.
@JasonHouston77 Wasn't sleeve on Summon the Destroyer (too?)? I had a few brief words with him some time ago, and I thought he told me he was on Summon the Destroyer. He actually told me, he'd send me their old CD but he forgot about me. :D
@HardcoreMetal89 I wouldn't go as far as to cast blessings upon all of metalcore, but I definitely like how its becoming more and more established for girls to sing and scream in music. It's a nice mix.
Though it's also a thin line to where it gets too ... uhm, nightwishy to enjoy. In This Moment for example display a singing style I can't really stomach. Screaming is pretty good, though. (But not live. The singer has little feeling for distance to the mic while screaming)
@Lostelei I know were u r coming from bro, i dont know i love metalcore dude,
but listen pretty much any metal genre. such as black metal, death metal, industrial metal, gothic metal deathcore, but metalcore has always been my fav genre.
What are you talking about? As far as I could tell they had a pretty unique sound back then when they were actually playing and even today with a deeper insight of the genre I couldn't think of bands (especially popular ones) that sound similar to ITS
Which you would probably notice, if it weren't for a general dislike of the word "metalcore". And bands sounding similar is surely not something that solely applies to the metalcore genre. Take a look at your genres of choice, objectively.
My genres are of choice...hmm lets see, Jazz, and ALL of it's varients including Gospel, old-school rap, most forms of Metal and Rock, Classical, Opera, Regae(However it's spelled.), Gregorian, Celtic, African Tribal, usually percussion based, and pretty much everything but Emo/scene bullshit, Pop and Technno. I don't mind new school Rap, but the old stuff had more feeling and raw emotion than modern stuff. TPain absolutely sucks though. So your telling me that all sounds the same?
No, of course "all that" doesn't sound the same, but within their genre, many things sound very similar. For example I'm listening to a good amount of Reaggae and find it all to sound awfully alike to the point of utter boredom. Or the Tribal stuff you mentioned. There's not a lot of diversity in there, and actually doesn't have to be. That's just what people from that culture and do and it's fine for them. Same thing goes for the "scene" subculture.
Trend...Not culture, trend. You sounding the same is perfectly fine, because those musicians believe in what they're playing. This band, and the millions like it, are just confused teenagers longing for attention. Are there a few bands in this genre I respect and are more than my generalization? Hell yeah, but genaric emotionless bullshit isn't my style.
Ultimately, what I'm trying to say is, that it's just an attribute of the concept "genre" itself, to have big similarities, influences and "clones". Of course the metalcore scene is a very popular scene, but no one is doing themself a favor by forsaking whole genres just because of trends or something.
There's a lot of good music waiting to be found in there, especially lyric-wise. And I'm not talking about emo-teens, crying over relationships.
i am from terre haute indiana where into the silence used to play all the time. my best friend actually dated sleev. anywayas i can burn you the cd, just get back to me
correction........dave the bassist showed up so did the drummer....alot of them moved on to other projects. dave went back to play with ishia formely pupil way back in the day. kashena the hottest screamer ever...i dont know if she went on to other projects.
