Maybe the captivate is not using the same touch sensor as the galaxy s i9000, or it is simply poorly configured. maXTouch can do 250Hz.

separates the fingers a lot.

A good multitouch solution like the Samsung Galaxy S,

allows the fingers to be quite close together.

Seems like the thing is unresponsive which indicates low sample rate.

Still, it is a step forward.

X10 has a faster sample rate than the Captivate (Galaxy S).

My friend has the Captivate and I have the X10. We used the app trigger frenzy which relies heavily on sample rate and the x10 has a much better response.
