Kentucky won even though they lost...Duke should have won this game by thirty. No one except us loyal kentucky fans thought this game would even be close. And what is UKs record against Duke since then? A team no one thought would still be there forced them hit that shot. I heard Coach K went to UKs locker room and consoled the players after the game. Even though Im not a Duke fan I think Coach K is the classiest coach in college Bball.

@bhint101 Yes he did, that was mentioned several times in the local papers in KY. He also got on the radio with Cawood Ledford (Cawoods last broadcast unfortunately) and thanked the UK players for being part of the best basketball game he has ever been a part of. Classy move indeed, on both accounts.

@gweijai That's Pelphrey, the former Head Coach at Arkansas. He took himself right out of that play. Who knows if Dukie would have hit it, more than likely he would considering he didn't miss a shot. Not even a cheap shot. Ha.

You could live for another 80 years...but you will NEVER, EVER see a better college basketball game played than this one...every year when the tournament comes around I dream that there will be a game as good as Duke/Kentucky 1992 and every year passes without one coming within miles of it...sure there have been great tourney games since this one but nothing that can even compare in terms of quality of play and emotion and clutch shooting with a perfect ending...

Agreed, this was the best college basketball game I have ever watched. If it ended with the Sean Woods basket, it would have been a great game. However with Laettner catching the full court pass and nailing the jumper made it that special. This is coming from someone who doesn't root for Duke or Kentucky.
