People should consider not speed-reading a comment if they are going to reply to it.. The girl was tortured there, not murdered there. To many of us believers, ghosts/spiritual entities are energies and if much torture was done- is said to still have lingering energies or spirits of the past.. so if the place would be haunted, (since the witch story has been legitly debunked), its safe to say by most of us that there still could be lingering energies due to the locations history.
@GhostVideoDebunker She wasn't tortured or killed there. It says they took her there with that intention, but cars kept driving by and they were scared somebody could catch them, so they took her elsewhere.
The terror 12-yr-old Shanda Shayer must have felt the night she was assaulted and tortured here is unimaginable. And these four girls say their intentions were not premeditated, yet they brought Shanda HERE?! And the judicial system BELIEVES THEM?! Unreal. The judges who released Hope Rippey and Toni Lawrence should THINK how their children would feel HERE in the same circumstances. I'm ashamed of the judges who released those girls. They are supposed to be upholding JUSTICE.
This place reminds me of scenes from the Blair Witch Project. I learned about this from documentaries on the Shanda Sharer case, terrible tragedy and those who killed her truly are Witches! It would be neat to this place oneday. When was the original house built?
It also used to be owned by a very wealthy family last name Foley and it burnt down in the early 60's it used to have a huge ballroom it was very nice back in the day it was the most beautiful home in utica at that time but my grandpa says that they always had tragedy in their family my moms aunt Ester used to date a guy that lived there.
my whole family lives in utica they can tell you whatever you want to know about this place.....but I went there one time with a cousin and he was possessed by something evil no lie it gives me chills to even talk about it.....something isnt right up there i believe devil worshipers opened a tunnel of demonic spirits!
ok i know the date on this video is 2008 and maybe some one has brought this up before....goto 2:55-2:58 in the video, there is what looks like a roof line behind the tree in the background. Is it just me or did something move behind that tree?
Bars on the window at 5:17 SCARY!!!! This would be a great place to refurbish as a nature walk area! You can see gardens used to exist here. it could be so beautiful to put in some lovely nature trails natural fountains and birding platforms-- a picnic spot. This place needs cleaning up
me and a couple of my freinds went to the witches castle one night and we got really scared so we left, and when we got back to our car there was blood all over our shoes, we parked in the lot a couple yards up from it and before we went in there were bones by the river with bags that had ropes tied to them and they were tied to rocks, that place is so creepy, just so very eerie.

Get yourself a spell-checker (it's "you can hear . . . " not "here"!) and a tripod for the camera, and a good director, and give a commentary that's worthwhile, and this might be worth watching. As it is . . . . I don't think so.
Very interesting,i'd luv to see it.I live way up here in Vancouver,B.c,Canada though so that's a little tough.if i ever get to i'm going to check it out..luv to explore those kinds of things.
Ghosthunter... I just recived a privet message from a Utica resident and a link to a picture of a painting of the castle in it's prime. It was a bread and breakfast back in the 50's not a home for witches in the 1800's
Nice, I talked to him and saw the picture as well. It definitely sheds some light onto the history of the property. Makes me wonder how the witches legend got started.
@IndianaGhostHunters I think every town in the US of A has their own myths.. lol I know of many where I grew up, researched most of them and found them all to be false. People like mystery and spooky stories! ;)
@GhostVideoDebunker It's not just the US, look at europe. They turned pale inbred royalty into vampires and werewolves with stores of haunted castles.
I like like just a couple minutes away from their, I can seriously walk their if I wanted to. I live in utica, but I haven't seen the castle before, but I have heard about it from all my friends, and family.
I did try to go find it though and I found a huge gate in the woods, that opened and lead up to the castle. It was a huge gate, one you see in scary movies, and had the letter "H" on it I think lol. :D
You can get in that way, a trail will lead along the backside of the structure and eventually take you up to the top where you cross that piece of wood that goes over the ditch. If you keep walking along side the road, past the gate, and keep a sharp eye to look through the foliage you should come across the stairs. There's a lot of different paths up there if you keep walking as well, you can even come in through the wooden bridge in the front.
No, I'm from Jeffersonville. It's creepy at first, but once you walk around once it's not too bad. The only real danger is that the police in Utica keep an eye out for "devil worshipers" doing "satanic rituals", which I've never found evidence of anything like that, but they tend to throw any teenager that in there minds might look the part into that category. I've only heard of people getting slaps on the wrist for being caught, never arrested or anything. Just don't make it obvious your there.
Well, here in Utica, it's different, because I have lived here all my life, and I know like everyone in this town. Only reason police are doing that, it's because outsiders, like from jeffersonville or beyond, come in and want to go to that place you was just at, and perform all different types of worshiping. Their has been known people to come here and do that, not gonna say anynames, but a lot of us that do live in utica, know this. :) Their's also more tells around here in Utica. :D
I know one of the girls from Madison involved in the Sharer murder supposedly did some kind of pagan rituals there, but I've never seen any evidence of that myself. It's pretty easy to spot places where that sort of thing takes place, and there's really no reason for them to be doing it up there. I think it's mostly sensationalism brought about by the Sharer murder. You should PM about other folklore from Utica, I've only heard about the Witches Castle and cemetery.
Hey ghosthunter i would love to know the history of the castle and see the online sight with the painting of it. I remeber the castle from reading of the murder of shanda sharer.
see dumb bitch i was'nt asking you a fucking thing, i was merely asking indiana ghosthunters a question, and bitch does this video look like one of your hoki ass imbred comedy video's? I think not. bitch maybe next time you should pay more attention to who and what your writing about before you start your dumb ass sending stupid messages to people
Excellent video footage, I had to conserve when using my footage of the castle in my Shanda sharer video to save time but I did not go through all the places you did... Why can't I vote on this?
Thanks for the feedback, I really found your video series on the murder informative. If you ever get the chance you should really go back to Witches Castle and explore it more thoroughly. I've been there several times, and it seems like something changes everytime I go back. Not sure why you can't vote on it, the settings all appear to be normal for the video.
Thanks Scott! I used the video function on my digital picture camera for these first two videos, and it gets the job done. I would really like to get a good video camera though.
