  • there no one greater, not one

  • Beutiful song as always. I care not what one takes away from it, its pretty regardless. Because beutiful music should not get tainted by what 2 differant people say about it ^^

  • Funny thing is this song is from the Choral work "Messiah" and it's about Jesus second coming where to ends life as we know it....in that context, this song is quite horrifying. Scares the shit out of me.

  • That was more than good

  • I never get the chance to learn this song but now I have to keep on listening to this song again and again

  • Jeez, can we not appreciate a work of art without squabbling about whose opinions are better?

  • heaven song

  • heaven song

  • You idiots should start enjoying this beautiful piece of music instead of discussing religion, where no one gets anywhere because both sides are extremely ignorant and retarded.

  • @ocnoreen - So you're saying people should believe in God because of what will happen if they don't? People should believe in God because it will ultimately benefit them? That's pathetic, I mean REALLY pathetic. If people are Christian because they really believe in God and the Bible, good for them. If they're Christian because they want to benefit themselves, then they're selfish losers.

  • @icemancotour - I'm the fool? um, look who misspelled "atheist." Why did you put an apostrophe? That's wrong, too. If you'd like, I can prove to you the Bible is wrong. Now go buy a dictionary.

  • WOW !! That was FABULOUS !!

  • Athiest's have their holiday: April 1st.

  • all comments and haters avast.... this is really a treat for the ears...and the soul..

  • Two assholes have seen this video, it would seem.

  • And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

    revelation 19:6

  • And He shall reign forever and ever, King of Kings, forever, forever, halleluja, halleluja. KING OF KINGS. That says it all to all you nonbelievers. You will bow your knees and your tongues will confess Him, if not in this lifetime, then at the great white throne judgment where you will face eternity in darkness and torment. Think about it. Is it worth your nonbelief?

  • @ocnoreen What if you're wrong? What if you die and end up going to Muslim hell or the Underworld of the Greek gods? Is it worth your non-belief in the "right" god?

  • love it! LOL LOL LOL ! When i want to remember something i forgot , and when i finally Remember it , this music comes to my head ! Halleluhaaah! lol i loveit!

  • Excelent. I have seen 3 performances of the Messiah personally, the first in 1966 and directed by Don Pablo Casals. In all three, ALL in the concert hall stood up during the Hallelujah. Whether a tradition since King George II or respect, I think it is proper to stand up during it's performance. Thank you.

  • @billace90 The standing during this chorus is such a tradition that it almost seems mockery not to. I am surprised, the older I get, how the number of people that stand seems to get fewer and fewer and THAT is sad for such a great song.

  • my church youth and adult chiors are singing this on easter sunday for te church service i just love this song it is so powerful

  • Why is it so difficult for some people to believe that a King of England...would or even Could stand...out of respect for the music and the composer...and more importantly to the Lord God Almighty...is Whose Holy Honor this work was Commissioned? Some of feel that it is appropriate..and Respectful to Stand...as though..at attention...in the presence of the Almighty...which this piece...makes you experience! God Bless.. and Thanks for Posting!

  • 8=> heh heh heh

  • When King George III heard it for the first time in Dublin - he stood out of respect to God and Handel, saying it was the greatest piece of music he had ever heard. So tradition dictates that one should stand for this sublime chorus. Listen to the words.................

  • @dejs66 Actually it was George II

  • @dejs66 actually, i hear he stood because of the pure fact that he was tired and stretching his legs. its very debatable. handel wrote the piece in like 22 days and it takes hours to perform the whole messiah. at this point (hallelujah) its about 2 hours long

  • Yes, you will go any lengths to satisfy your world view. Why did not he stand in between just to stretch his legs, if he could stand for a reason as trivial as stretching legs and in a time period where standing meant a certain honor? If he wanted to stretch he would not have had to wait for 2 hours. After all, this piece is not the end of the oratorio.

  • Why does the audience have to stand up during this. My teacher never told me.

  • @icemancotour so?

  • Awesome...

  • So cool - well done everyone

  • U should see Andre Rieu perform this song, im sure u all find it awesome ! Personly think better then this 1

  • I did this two years ago in St. Johns Cathdral, Hong Kong

  • it sounds really good eventho most of its members look like they're in their 90's!!

    :]

    Good Job!

  • lmao! they do look in their 90's!

  • actually the choir IS 90 years old and filled with young and old who sing for the love of music

  • very weak should be strong and very clear this is HANDEL people. Very bunched together.

  • a bit too fast
