  • Awesome footage, thanks!

  • i dont see the rain in here

  • @nrail879 It's light, but the popping sounds is the rain hitting the tent blind.

  • He dipped!!!

  • I have had it happen to me once but luckily he ducked a little to low and it cuaght him in the spine. Sucks when it happens. We have shotten deer above the lungs and under the spine like that and lost them and then find them on trail camera pictures acouple months later. Pretty crazy!

  • Was you arrow still in the deer ?

  • @megadeers No it fell out of him about 40 yards down a trail

  • @RisingSunOutdoors did he pull it out with his teeth or did it just fall out?

  • Did you get your arrow back?

  • @Sandstorm9562 Yes. It had no blood on it just fat. The deer lived.

  • Come hunt with us! Check out our website for details. browtineproductions . com

  • For a split second at 1:25 if you see he already has another arrow with grey feathers sticking out his other side. He been duckin all day

  • Good shot placement, I put my mouse where I would have shot that big boy and sure enough, he dropped on that arrow to an extreme. Sorry for the luck, but you did it right. Keep up the good work and better luck next time.

  • wow that sucks ass :/ props to the deer for the quick reaction time, hah.

  • If he didn't drop so much that would have been a perfect heart shot. Guess u win some and lose some. Great shooting mate.

  • wow! i have lost some monster bucks because of deer ducking the arrow! this video reallys helps me realize that it wasnt all my fault. these animals have a reaction time that is far faster than we can comprehend.

  • Nice video. Thanks.

  • this is why you aim at the bottom of their rib cage

  • Did you kiil him

  • he will live

  • looks like ya spined em eh?

  • ahhhhhh. wow i had that exact thing happen to be last year on a similar size buck last year and a doe this year. i hate that.

  • wow, great shot. That deer just had a way faster reaction than other deer and at about 15-20 yards, you made the right shot. And for those of you who think the deer didn't drop, pause it on the instant replay to watch where the arrow would have hit if the deer hadn't of moved. Great deer, and Congrats!

  • Yep, that buck ducked 6 to 7 inches.....he has quick reflexes.

  • That sucks that the deer jumped the string. I've had it happen myself. I put a litle bit more money into making it quiet now. I don't even notice em flinching and reacting to the bow shot as quickly now.

  • @rabbitracer69 the bow is quiet...the mic on the camera makes it sound really loud.

  • Wow! That was one for the books. If you were using Magnus Buzzcut broadheads you would have severed his spine. Did you ever find your arrow?

  • @riverwalker76 that was a Magnus Stinger broadhead. The BH went in the "void" and never hit anything vital.

  • you tried to spine him. very clearly, he didn't duck more than an inch and the arrow was nowhere near the cage you could have dropped a good 7"

  • @wilabird No she did not try to spine him...she put it behind the shoulder at the "elbow". Put the pointer of the mouse above the elbow in the crease of the shoulder...the deer drops and the arrow hits where the pointer was positioned.

  • @wilabird are you freaking stupid?? that deer dropped a good 6" if not more

  • @wilabird when the deer turns broadside put your finger on the screen at the top of his back. Then when you hear the shot hit pause. Yea the deer ducked. Why would someone aim for the spine from a blind? Maybe on a doe but why risk it on a big buck?

  • @wilabird no his front end drops a good 5-7 inches in the slomo put ur mouse onthe top of the shoulder then when the arrow hits look how much distance is between the should and ur mouse now

  • @wilabird looks to me like it dropped in the area of 9-11 inches

  • lmao 342 ft a sec ??? now is that ibo...on a cronograph or what...i use Mathews DXT 100 grain and as short of arrow as possible....records 304 on paper.

  • @kenjackson1977 I don't think he has his FPS right.

I would like to know what his set up is...

  • @RisingSunOutdoors has to be drawing back about 110 pounds lmfao! ; )

  • y didnt it bleed out?

  • hmm seems like the shooter was going for double lung and aimed a bit high for a double lung..... i havnt been bow hunting yet but this season wen i go i always planned to go double lung slightly low at 20-30 yards or if i feel like i can place the shot i would go for a heart shot just slightly high so if he jumps the string i would still double lung it, slightly high for if i misjuge distance ..... i sure this does not happen to me out in the woods

  • That deer seemed to have ben spooked frequently, even though he seemed relaxed because he was eating. He was extremely tense and pretty erratic with his head movement and was partially crouched "loaded his weight on his legs". That was a good shot, nothing you could do. Great video, that happens. People say aim low but then if he doesnt drop like that you hit low.....and same result. Thanks for sharing

  • grate video,I wish some one would make a video about setin up a ground blind.Id like to try huntin on the ground

  • @MrJaws82 I never thought about it, but I guess I could maybe do that this year :)

  • the bow was a big part of the problem that deer was relaxed and had his head down my bow shoots a 2315 w/ 125 gr. broadhead at 342 ft a sec and i have never had a deer duck that much unless the shots were long like 40 yds +

  • @montanaflytyer a 2315 arrow with a 125 grain broadhead at 342 fps...wow.

How may pounds are you drawing, what is the length of the arrow and what kind of bow is it that you use?

  • That's gotta suck not to recover that buck. He would look good in the trophy room. But i'm glad to hear he made it and not injured.

  • @RealtimeBoyz Yeah he would have looked good in the trophy room, but where did you find that the buck was uninjured? To survive and be not injured are two different things... That buck had a broad head pass through his body how would you not be injured... I hunt with a passion so no anti hunting message here just curious if after watching an arrow pass through a deer if someone could convince you the animal was not hurt

  • @stuarth08 He was injured, but recovered from his injuries and was seen the again, but much wiser!

  • nice buck

  • damn! an inch lower and he woulda fell in his tracks. i hate the whole daggum aim low- aim right at em thing. it's so hard to judge. i guess on a bait station you should try to aim low but i've shot under several nervous deer that didn't duck. who knows! i guess we should just consider ourselves blessed when we have an oppurtunity to fling an arrow.

  • did you gettem?

  • @justinden99 No but we saw him the following year, just a little more wiser!

  • @justinden99 no...he lived and was healed up the following year.

  • @RisingSunOutdoors hey the arrow went through both side of the buck if you watch carefully you will see the arrow on the other side and you hit him though the spine so you should o broke his back and he would o ell over right away because ive shot a buck in the same spot you did he ell to the ground his spine was broken so all i had to do hid pull my pistall and shoot him though the shoulder and i had me a buck to feed my family and hang up on the wall so good luck next time and btw good video

  • Hah, the deer started running before it even got hit.

  • Deer probably is wearing a cool piercing through the hole now- probably some bling that says PETA SUX or something cool like that- those hits heal over pretty fast- it doesn't take much for the deer to pull the arrow out and heal up. Hope you get another crack at him next season. I gotta hunch you'll be aiming at heart and not lungs next time, eh?

  • man the arrow didnt blow through either might want to invest into a new updated bow, that should have kept on goin.

  • @studdgage no it didn't...the bow was not the problem, nor was the broadhead. Her bow has blow threw hogs and other deer!

  • @RisingSunOutdoors well somthin is jacked cause there isnt nothin up there to hit!!!

  • RIGHT THRU THE BACKSTRAPS!

  • dont shoot at a stiff leg deer they duck!

  • wow man...sorry about that buck. that deer was really nervous to begin with.

  • Wow! That was quick. That deer was fast jumping the string and running off. I havent seen a deer run that fast in Ohio. Where was this at? Great video!

  • @Ohiobassnbucks This is in Texas...

  • Wheres the tracking ?

  • @metallicaj9 There wasn't any...not vital shot and he was seen alive the next year.

  • the shot was much too high....

  • neatiful buck, u may get another chance, i hope u will

  • damn! 1 inch lower and he woulda rolled right there.

  • clearly hit him, just in the backstraps, not a mortal wound but he was sore for a few weeks till it healed up

  • OLD DEER....and 1 of the most beautiful

  • that wouldve been perfect

  • dude wasnt tath a spine shot?

  • @MrRulezor No barely missed the spine

  • The bow is tuned and shoots 'bullet holes' through paper.

The flex of the arrow is archers paradox. Every arrow flexes like that when shot from a bow.

Just type it in in the youtube search bar and you can see some really good slow motion shots that will show this.

  • Did you ever see him again?

  • I did the following season...he was a little smarter and didn't hang around long!

  • now that is an old buck.

  • same thing happend to me this year chum, hes not wounded bad at all , just through the skin, my buck was back at the bait 9 days later . i passed him up for the rest of the season. good luck and great video

  • This Deer is realy switched on check its ears and aleartness and front legs positioning befor it drops in slow mo. Then put your mouse curser on the deer were you think you would shoot it and wait for it to drop and see if the shot would have been good enough. something to think about.

  • Hi there to simulate the arrow position of body shot placement here. when it goes slow mo put your mouse curser at the bottom of the deers chest or a third of the way up. It realy gives a better idea of the dear dropping so far. Might give every one some thought next time we go after Deer. Cheers :)

  • i guess he got away? cool vid!

  • Great buck!!!

    5* and subed!!!

  • close to a spine shot.....that one got away

  • lookin at your videos, i have to tell you, you MUST aim low with a bow. aim for lower heart if he doesn't flinch you still got the heart, if he does you get high lungs at worst

  • This is not our first hunt or first time shooting bows. We under know were to aim, but there is no guarantees in bowhunting.

My wife put the pin just below the chest line...off target if you will.

The deer was still able to drop that much and she hit him that high at 14 yards.

  • I've seen this before. I heard it's called bait shooting. It's legal in some states. It doesn't seem to be very challenging though. However, I'm sure domesticated deer eat as good as the wild ones. (wink)

  • LOL...I have hunted all kinds of ways and have killed many deer.

We hunted on this place for 4 years and never saw this deer in person or on trail cams in or around the feeders.

The only difference that day was I was burning a Tink's Rut stick. The wind was blowing in the same direction this buck walked in from sniffing the air and smoke as he was coming in.

  • I was just being a smart ass is all.......in a joking way. I use a decoy or two, calls and scents to attract deer. Works well just prior and during the rut. Good luck on your hunts now and in the future. (wink)

  • I could tell you were just jacking with me. If I thought anything else I wouldn't of posted your message. Bait shooting...nice ring to it. :)

I haven't had luck with a decoy, but scents and calls have brought them in for us.

Some of you northern boys hunt over a corn or soybean field so to me it is about the same thing, I just prefer all my food source to be in one spot and dispensed when I want it to be :)

    Even that isn't a guarantee.

  • i dont use bait or have a problem with other people who do use bait as long as its legal. but in no way does using bait make it not challanging.

  • Looks like a 3 year old deer my friend. Let that one walk and those like him and you'll have better ranch in a few years.

Best of luck with your hunting!!!!

  • damn man i had the same thing happen my arrow had nothin but fat on it the deer ducked i hit high and same thing happened. sucks

  • ive had em duck the arrow plenty of times its heartbreaking and humorous at the same time thats the beauty of hunting

  • ah, i hate those shots. theres basically an air pocket between the top of his rib cage and his spinefor those who don't know. looks like you hit right there from what i can see.

  • so couldnt find hiM? no blood? i see the arrow stayed in him

  • Nope. No blood and I found the arrow about 30 yards away. The arrow hit above the spine and never hit anything vital.

He lived to see another day!!

  • not even close to a lungs shot but if u check in slomo the deer courch faster than the shoot... the arrow was at the very good place when he shot...

  • No not even...and yes the arrow was at a very good place and he crouched faster and moved almost out of the way of the arrow.

That was the main purpose of this video, to show how fast the deer can be.

She is shoots at about 250 fps and the deer was 15 yards away.

  • suprised ur arrow didnt pass through.?.

  • I think it must of hit or lodged around the backstrap and backbone, but of course it didn't break the spine.

The arrow came out about 30 yards away and only had fat, hair and some meat on it. He is still alive!

  • oj but arrows cant be cheap enuf for them to just run away

  • come to the northern states and compete

with us on public land instead of shooting a pet.

  • Why? We have private hunting land here in Texas and there is no competition. :) I have hunted public land and it is tough no doubt. I've also killed deer hunting on public land and it is a challenge and great achievement.

However, there are different places and methods of hunting. Yours is not better than mine and vise verse. I love to hunt and share my video with others that have the same likeness.

  • so how did you do this season??...see that same buck?? and if you did..did you stick him better this time?

  • This season is bad. We are on a new place that is bigger and the terrain is rough. A lot of acorns on the ground and the deer don't have to move much for food or water. How that the rains and freezing temps have soured the acorns the deer are on the move for food. I'm on some good trails and waiting to ambush :) lets see how Dec pans out.

  • you could definitely tell that that buck was really nervous around that feeder the way his ears were constantly moving and he was looking up a lot and by how prepared he was to react to sound but jumping that bow string.

another bowhunter to another, i have never had deer nervous around my feeder because there are always more than one deer at my feeder and they feel more safe when there are other eyes. just keep your feeder up all of the time and they will get use to it.

  • Use a gun if you cant kill em with a bow don't wound them Kill them!

  • A gun is no guarantee that a deer will not be wounded nor is there a guarantee that a deer will killed with a gun.

It is shot placement that guarantees a kill...in this case sot placement was not good due to him dropping.

Same shot with a rifle would and the outcome would be a wounded deer as well.

The deer lived and is a little smarted now:)

  • @RisingSunOutdoors Very true...the shot placement is critical. A poor shot with a rifle means no deer. If you blow a popsicle stick through both lungs he's going in the freezer.

  • good buck pretty skinny though it looked like you were in texas am i right

  • Texas is correct

  • woulda been right in the boiler room had he not dropped

  • You can say that again!!!

  • From one ethical hunter to another; my 8 year old son could kill one under a feeder.

  • Sir, from one ethical hunter to another my 8 yr old has killed one at a feeder.

Mine too can kill one at the edge of a food plot as well.

Food plot, field of corn, sugar beets, turnips or feeder is all the same. If it is man made and you hunt over them then you are hunting over bait.

  • @RisingSunOutdoors very true i hunt in acorns,well said...

  • Do you find the deer???

  • No he lived the hit was very high and not a fatal shot.

  • I can't Stand ignorant anti's that dont understand that HUNTING is a way of MANAGEMENT and FOOD for the HUNGRY! If it wasn't for us HUNTER to manage the population, the whole HERD would die of Starvation and Disease! They Dont understand what us HUNTERS do to HELP the HERD and the ANIMAL! I dont know how many times I've saved a deer here at WORK out of our Lagoons.. But yet, I'm a bad person!!! Whatever!

  • nice shot just a lil high nice deer!

  • And that reaction saved it's life

  • it's funny how male humas appreciate the "rack" on female humans whereas deer ar exactly the opposite. I can imagine a doe picking up a buck in a bar saying "Hey handsome! Nice Rack!" =))

  • Really cool Vid!!! arrow kicks a little and looks a bit underspined, Might be able to get it there a bit quicker and get him next time with a tune!! really cool stuff though!!

  • Glad the deer made it,might have a chance at him again this year.

But a word of advice, either learn to tune your bow or get someone to do it for you.The arrow has WAY TOO MUCH wobble and the lighted nock clearly shows it.

  • dam u hit him in the spine...he shoudl have dropped right then and there

  • Just above the spine...an inch or two lower it would have been spinned!

  • nice buck hope u get him

  • one bowhunter to the other.not hard to kill a buck under a feeder!he ducked because he has been shot at a lot i imagine..

  • One bowhunter to another...it is hard to kill a deer around a feeder. Most deer don't care for them and are skittish around them....he ducked because he was skittish, this was the first time we saw this buck...

  • how heavy was the rain, and the temperature?

  • Down pours off and on. After a down pour the rain let up and they were moving again. It was in the low 40's.

  • Beautiful Buck. Where you able to recover him?

  • No, he was not killed. Saw him a few days later and the wound was healed up. Saw him this past season and he is more educated when around ground blinds.

  • i shot a doe and placed a shot like that and didnt find any blood.

  • shit dude, sweet video.

hunting is not cruel, go watch the lion king again.

    "the circle of life"

    every living thing has life

whether you are vegetarian or not, you're killing something as you consume it.

anti-hunters: go eat shit or something not alive.

  • I am not what you call an anti hunter but I did like how you took the opportunity to enjoy the animal in all its beauty before possibly taking its life.

The deer was smart if it didnt go down you would have hit the sweet spot "kill zone"

  • No your very wrong Yes it can drop right away from a heart shot but getting a lung shot which he did the deer dies within a minute after running off You do not know well enough about hunting man..... I;m not calling you an anti hunter but be smarter

  • that was not even close to a lung shot

  • way too high for lungs and he didnt even die

  • Nice work man. Keep on hunting with your kids, so you don't have to hunt them. To heck with the anti-hunters, I bet they don't videotape thier pursuits. It would probably be used as evidence.

    Love the Lumenok shots!

  • I don't know too much about hunting but it seems like the needless killing of an animal for 'sport'. What's the difference if a kid for example shot a pellet gun at my cat and it died. One is for sport and the other is cruelty. I understand there are regulations and rules, so the population isn't depleated or whatever. But what bothers me the most is the fact that something that was once alive is now dead.

  • I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game I pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that natures ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are far crueler fate than I bestow.

  • Crap happens, the deer jumped the string. For all of you people who think animals are human and have emotions and crap, let's check into the real world for a second. Animals such as deer do not have the complex nervous system that other domestic animals. Don't believe me: look it up. Dont like people killing things. Well, if we didnt kill things none of us would be here to even argue the point. Ok, you can go back to your fantasy world that everyone can live off bean sprouts and green algae.

  • DeliberateCruelty deal with it bow hunting rocks

  • it happens bro it happens nice buck though

  • that hit was very close to the spine. Just to let you all know that these videos are being use for our fight against bowkilling for proof that these animals death are not "quick".

  • Hello...I don't approve of you harassment; It is unwanted .

You and your group are no more than domestic terrorists that are attacking people on US soil.

You are right NO animal death is quick in the way you and your group articulates it. Look at a lion killing a wilder beast calf, usually eating them alive, how about a frog eating an insect alive, how about someones loved one suffering with cancer dying a slow and painful death. What's next with you and your group?

  • BTW why don't you all go after the auto makers because auto hit animals and cause them to die a painful death.

This deer lived and was able to breed more babies...

  • no ones saying they die quick....thats why we wait 30-60min after the shot....

  • just to inform you when an animal is hit by an arrow they dont know what happened so it pretty much just feels like a prick in their side and by the time they stop running and think about what happened they will be dead. and one other thing bowhunting actually gives the animal a chance because the maximum range you will be shooting at them should be about 30 yards.

  • you and your group are the most worthless peices of crap in the world good luck with your fight against bows its never going to happen

  • you anti-hunters are a waste of time, youd be more productive if you fought for the protection of forests or something like that hunting has been around since the begining of life so shut up.

  • amen....

  • true that anti-hunters are ussulaly the one killing most of the deer anyway because they're killing the forests making country clubs and what not...

  • This man knows what he's talking about! Get out of your little fantasy world where you think every thing should be perfect.

  • It seems to be working...LMAO

  • i cant tag any thing with my bow i always miss or hit it in its ass or somthing like tht but i can hunt with a rifle and get a head shot with some ease

  • i shot a deer in the fkn hind quater with my crossbow and it must have hit an artery the thing bled out in 40 yards,,,blood everywhere

  • ya that guy dropped a solid 8" iv seen it cause spine shots on deer up here...you get a mulie jumping the string tho...unless they do jump...not duck

  • The can move fast!!!

  • have you had any experience with some of bowtech's compounds? they're extreamly quit, and a good shot. If you used one, that thing is damn fast!

  • No, I am shooting a Mathews and my wife shoots a Renegade. Both are very quiet, but when the camera is 18" from it they both sound like canons going off.

  • No we never found it. However we did locate the arrow and it didn't have any blood on it just hair and a little fat...he lived I'm sure.

  • so when you shoot at a deer with a bow are you supose to aim low? i don't use bows

  • In this case yes...

It really depends on a few thinks. A lot of the times I have picked the spot, released and hit exactly where I was aiming. Some times a little high and a few times miss high.

I think if the deer come into an area a little "jumpy" then your chances of them "ducking the arrow" is greater.

  • i can't believe you missed!

  • Yeah, she (my wife) couldn't believe she did either. That happens on occasion.

  • oh man that sucks. well there is always next time. That was a nice buck. I got my first ever deer this past hunting season in 08 with a 12 gauge mossberg. i missed his heart and everything I was so nervous i shot his liver he ran about 100 yards and died behind a tree. lol i had to walk clear to the property markers and when i turned around i saw my 7 point buck. he weighed 220 to 225 pounds.

  • seemed like a really solid shot. What kind of tip and bow did you use?

  • Magnus Stingers 4 blade. The shot ended up being a little to high and missed the vitals.

  • i love the stingers. them things got me 3 deer this year, undertakers got me 2. I didn't use em as much. kind a iffy on mechanicels but there good.

  • NEED HELP.. Im thinking about going hunting. This is my first time. Should I use a rifle or a shotgun or a combo? What should I look for and where should I shop? What kinda rounds should I use? What brand and model? I might wanna hunt deer and ducks. Should I use slugs or pellets?Should I use a suppressor? Where would be a good location? What else do I need to know. What kinda knives should I carry? Please andThanx.
