Dude you are absolutely awesome man!! my fone was having the same problem and i was very upset due to this problem its a real pain for me but you saved my time and money!! u r superb man!! thumbs up to u!!
umm.......out of 1 million units and satisfied users, theres bound to be one unit and an glitches r bound to happen...give nokia some credit guys......ps: iphone does suck compared to this beast of a phone!!!!!!!! trust me av owned both and m much happier with the n900
@rocko306x now i don't have an iphone and i hate apple but saying what u said makes u look just look retarded .. btw i own the n900 and it just sucks compared to the iphone .. don't get me wrong i love n900 and it's a beast but don't compare it to the iphone ..
hey man i just sloved this problem all u gotta do is place a small piece of paper inder the battery where the main connector of your battery is and than try it its perfect.
this one (possibly called liam) must have a really small brain as his comments seem to only contain 1 word beginning with F repeated many times seperated with a few 'normal' words. Well done to youtube for removing his drivel
Duh, No. Read stuff before asking such stupid questions. It is a problem with the battery. if i put a not Nokia battery in the problem disappears but with the normal nokia battery it just shuts down.
Hey, u can go for a change of ur mobile.... nokia does a replacing of the mobile phone if the same problem continues. Call the nokia support center n get a new one. I hav a n900 and it workin so gud. I love this phone.
@MrMargaretScratcher I never had a Nokia. But my father always buys nokias and he alway has problems with it. He won't receive pone calls or text messages, phone freezes, a lot of bugs and sometimes it makes a buzzing sound
So I have figured it out. It is the battery that is causing me issues, i swapped mine for a colleagues from his 5800 and lo and behold no issues when opening the keyboard.
I explained this to Nokia Support who sent me a new Nokia battery and this has the same problem.
I went into town and bought a cheap unbranded battery and this one works fine and I havent had a shut down in over a week.
That's very unfortunate lol, i've had mine about two months now, not a single problem :D And i've done ALOT of shit with it to push it to it's limits too lol

@MaxxG0 For what it is, the N900 literally pisses on everything else I've seen from a great height..
Sure it's not for everyone but it really is a palm sized netbook, rather than a phone with some apps...

True... like sonybutnownokia mentioned that happens if you have the screen locked....
