I am exploring this new album of Bjork's and I am puzzled by the pagan-astro-nature stryle she chosed.I am deeply inspired by the pagan times and ways and ancient instruments, philosophy and all that mixed with astronomy and other planets influence on earth and people. Therefore this is very attractive to me and I find it very weird as mush as it is inspirative artisticaly to me.Absolutely new sphere.Love n Light
@thomasfan001 Uhh, what? Hollow is the only one that changes it's time signature. What gave you the impression that the others did too? The change in time signature is to resemble the replisome I think?
@FortitudoProductions Moon starts in 17/8 but has sections in 5/4 and 4/4, Crystalline's verses are in 17/8 and the chorus is in 4/4, Mutual Core's quiet parts are in 5/4, while the louder parts are in 4/4, Solstice has 7/4 and 6/4 bars.
Are you perhaps thinking of tempo (speed) and not time signature? Because Hollow is the only one that changes in that instance, although a case could be argued for Mutual Core...
@thomasfan001 that is entirely true! good for you for figuring it out. Yes, Bjork borrows many styles of composing, and even a few melody inspirations from the likes of Sorabji and Ravel to create these in an atonal and avant garde style.
@thomasfan001 I guess that explains why I got hooked as soon as I heard this work. I've always found some kind of dark & mysterious beauty behind the whole tone scale ^_^
This is so crazily beautiful. I didn't see this wonderful album coming. I love you new album Björk... I'm obssessed with every single song!!!

3:46 Oh god I love the way that part comes in. Completely blind sided me the first time. Was like, the third Björk song I had ever heard. Unreal.

I can totally see why people like her. Just not really my kind of music. I'm giving her a good try though!!!

@runaway817 She's very different in all of her albums, don't think she is only this. I am a huge fan of Björk, but no so crazy about this.

I've figured it out! This song relies on a whole tone scale to get all the creepy melodies!
thomasfan001 4 months ago
@thomasfan001 it also constantly changes time signature
philpism20 4 months ago
@philpism20 True, and so do Moon, Crystalline, Mutual Core, Solstice and maybe Thunderbolt but I'm not sure, I need to listen to it again.
