i live in manitoba Winnipeg its useally -30 with wind chill hint spring time its about 1 or 2 degrees -1/-2 or something like that so u can fall through
@yoitired Yes you could go Hypothermic REALLY FAST with -50F/-45.5C, Your bodies normal core temperature is 98.6F / 37C and thats what counts for hypothermia, which is when the core temp is 95F/35C or below. A lot can also depend on what your wearing & how long your exposed to the elements, in the case that your wet and stranded in a -50F environment the risk is elevated alot.
I'm Canadian hence the F vs C (celsius) conversion.
All in all, if your faced with a -50F day, stay inside :P
i am moving to florida in 1 month. i am from jersey, soo it do not get too cold here, but boy i can not wait til fla, the beach ,, seeyas, stay cool....
Even folks down south in the USA (like me)could watch this video and learn something. I fish in cold waters in a local river and if I fall in the 40 degree Fahrenheit waters, I now know what to expect from my body as I paddle for the sandbar as fast as I can. If the current keeps me in the water too long, I will know what to expect and can prepare for it when I finally get out of the cold water. I carry a magnesium fire starter all the time. Better than matches.
don't start a fire directly on the snow like he does. that's why his "bomb proof method" was not working....raise a platform and start it in a bundle

This was pretty decent, but up here (Toronto area) it's usually -30C/-22F so survival would be more difficult.
