This is such a beautiful song. I nearly cried when I first heard it.. especially when Max starts singing; "Can I lie with you in your grave..." Max is a brilliant writer and musician. His singing and his lyrics are filled with so much emotion, passion, and integrity. The creativity in the metaphors just blow me away. This song is so lovely and sweet. Wonderful.

It's called evolution, people's views change,they grow. It's what makes him an artist, growth. And if you look at it the way you put it, you can really see the growth. Sex, drugs, and being free, to falling in love, (i.e., in defense.) To crushes dying and whining about doing better, or to put it in perspective, realizing his mortality, knowing that he could have donebetter, and feeling the regret for it.. I'm not saying thats what all the albums mean exactly, but you could look at it like that.
