I own a 2007 Freestar and while I know it cannot beat the Grand Am (used to own one but sold it to buy the van) in a race if they both floor it, the Freestar has a much more power off the line and at half throttle would kick the Grand Am.

@RaguelAngelofBalance Freestar was discontinued because Ford didn't want to build minivans anymore. They built that piece of crap under the Freestar and Windstar names for 8 years with no mechanical or electrical changes. Building shit isn't something Ford has a problem with.

dude u weren't even flooring it what the hell were u doing? the camera was everywhere u couldn't even see the acceleration til later after you showed us you were going 80 its a minivan it ain't gonna get up and go. at 80 mph no car accelerates like it does when it first comes off the line unless ur paying 1.4m for it
@dieselman92 LoL This guy knows what he's talking about... It's a fuckin minivan, and if you're planning to "John Force" with it. I suggest you buy a 2011 5.0L Mustang GT OR For that matter, a Cobra Jet.
@dsjamesk it's ashame that the 2nd Generation Windstars are all falling apart with the Rear Axles and now something with the Front End and The Steering. Damn Shame.
@bigj5885 but yes it is a shame that there falling apart, in fact ive found out that some of the 98 modles are having that problem, so now it concernes me, what bout the sterring, can you clareify?
But that minivan had the 3.9 L that my mom drives. it makes a lot of noise but there's no real power. 193 hp just doesn't cut it for a 4500 lb. car. My Olds Intrigue has 195 but it weighs 1,000 lbs. less
I gotta chime in, a lot of people dont understand why fords tend to seem underpowered....Nobody seems to take note that most Ford transmissions take a little more power than most to turn.....They do it for reliablity, so I cant say I'd bitch...
because there 4 speed automatics that where they fucked up but yeah my mom has a 4.2 and it will haulass just wait till it get into 3rd and that shit goes!

3.9 or 4.2 engine? Either way that Vulcan engine takes off when you floor it. You didn't give it too much gas.
