  • track maintenence here has got to be a bitch

  • A street car that takes a quarter of a mile to stop!!!!!!!!!

  • @Amtrakrailfan23 Good analogy!

  • what staion is this on BART

  • Sorry I came by car & I am from TX so I cannot reply to ur question. Maybe just as simple as Jack London Square maybe though

  • this is just an amtrack station not BART

  • @DRfermasMs The closest BART station is Oakland City Center, but thats about a ten block walk. I suggest riding AC Transit either the 58 or the 72.

  • Cool - It seems to me that he was moving a little fast for street running.

  • Thanks I am sure it was operating @ the speed limit of lower

  • It would be quicker to walk to the building with the skyway and get across the street !!

  • Yes I was just there again & somebody did just what U suggested

  • whats that third track on the road for?

  • Sorry I do not know

  • I think it used to be 3 tracks they just never torn out the tracks and just paved over them

  • Well I will be going back in Dec & I will check that out

  • Yes there was a 3rd track there. Some of it is exposed & some has been paved over

  • has someone ever been hit there?

  • I do not know but the trains have been running there for many, many years

  • yea, a guy was hit by a capitol corridor, while on his cell phone, (killed instantly)

  • I would GUESS yes but do not know for sure

  • I wonder if trains have bailed down that road before (i'm sure hey have)

  • You mean derailed? I really do not know it was the 1st time I was ever there

  • if there was, and i've been living the the Bay Area all my life, we would've known about it. I think in the many years Jack London Square has been there, there have been no derailments.

  • hello hello hello flower

  • wow that is a great spot. one day...

  • Yes BART leave you off right there. We came out of the parking lot walked about 40 feet & there were the tracks. Parking there is awfully pricy though

  • are the rails still there? and if they are can you tell me what to write on google maps to find the quickest way from a highway to there.

  • Well it is right next to the container terminals. Yes the rails are still there & if you were in SF just take BART across the bay & it leaves you off at the tracks. Maybe if you do a MAPQUEST of Oakland & go west towards the water you will find it. I am from Texas & my bro took me there & he knew how to get there

  • That's cool...but it doesn't look "real"! Neat catch.

  • Thanks a lot & yes it did not look real to me either but it really was
