I have to be honest...when they brought out the watermelon, I had my doubts. However, that cane went through that melon like it was some kind of hard object!
Okay i can fucking punch a watermelon in half why don't they use the material from deadliest warrior i know that thing can break a head but still its fucking stupid they do watermelons thats such a weak fruit
I bought one of these to replace my aluminum cane. It's a lot heavier and the round knob is not so comfortable. I called Coldsteel and they still sell just the stainless pistol grip so you can replace the knob. I got the pistol grip last week and it makes a comfortable difference. A little heavier than the knob, but if I had to swing it for self defense, it's going to make a mess out of the receiver. Also I can carry it into the court buildings when I have to leave my gun locked up.
it's funny they say how strong it is and they show all these clips of a stick doing impact on things but the big question would be how heavy is it LOL.
@white7shadow777 The weight is listed on the product page at Cold Steel's website. 21.2 oz for the plain one. The skull and pistol grip have apparently been discontinued.
@DamazViccar Since I'm a retired LEO and don't have a Asp baton to worry with, this is the next best thing! And I get the benefit of using it as a cane. I have the pistol grip on mine and it makes great for hooking the joints.
The polypropylene weapons are much heavier and give a more powerful thump. However, in all my experience with poly sticks i find that they bend WAY too much for my liking. When a weapon flexes it loses energy, losing power. They also warp much more than advertised, which, of course, changes the balance. The City Stick feels much better on the strike. Impossible to break on Human anatomy, it's a perfect defense weapon with plenty of reach. :) Lastly, these things are speedy little devils.
I'm 23 now, and have been carrying cane weapons since i was 17 or so. Believe me...the stupid comments will never stop since there is a surplus of immature d-bags everywhere. That's actually my main reason for carrying one: D-bags. I have had to use my weapons on multiple occasions. They work better than limbs! Haha, so it's up to you to embrace your fighting style and ignore the chatter. Dig it?
Sucks that you get all that crap, but I respect you for ignoring what others think and sticking with a good choice. I truly do believe this is a good choice too, it's legal, and possibly more importantly it can really take care of business when it has to.
I thank you for that comment. People will tell you to drop your weapon and "Fight like a man" because they want to control you. If you listen to them you show them obedience and they win.
If you stand strong, weapon in hand, you show that YOU are in control of your will power and in control of a potential fight. People who start streetfights are cowards and no coward wants to face an opponent who starts off showing dominance and control. :) Feels good.
Yes the walking stick and the umbrella, two items that if high quality, can be deadly weapons that cannon be taken away from you in any building or complex. "You would take away an old mans walking stick?" -Gandalf
@silver2478 The ferrule isn't all that great, to be honest. In usage, it seems to be thinner than at first glance. Mine is damn near worn through after using mostly on pavement over a period of a few weeks. As far as water resistance, the metal parts are up top where your hand would be.
It is called the "city stick" though, which is apt. Something else would serve your purposes better. This is more as a cane than a "walking stick." Cold Steel offers more suitable products to your needs.
but will it blend?

I love my city stick, but I wish the head wouldn't come unscrewed as easily. Even after a few steps I have to tighten the head.

@BuckMuscles Try some 3M thread lock on it if you're not planning on taking off or changing the grip. It might stay put for a lot longer.

Oh yes, it is. It is a heavy stick, so you need to actually carry it around for a while to get the feel of it.
The pistol-handle and the heavy-duty canes are even better, because you can use joint-hooking techniques.

How does the strength of this one compare to that of the polypropylene African and Blackthorn walking sticks?

Hm. Being only 19, though, I'd probably get a lot of annoying comments about my "pimp cane".

They make one with a sword. The point of this, however, is being legal. Sword canes aren't.

I have two of these. They are serious weapons. For self defense, they're better than a baseball bat.
tallswede80 3 years ago 2
Me and my friend were arguing about that. I'm getting one of these and hes getting the polyproplene bat then see who comes out in one piece.
Do you know if you can buy the heads separate from the stick?
AnalMolestation 3 years ago
No, I don't think you can get the heads separately. Although you can always ask. Just go to the coldsteel website and send an email.
tallswede80 3 years ago
Fair enough, might as well ask.
Thanks ;)
