When I saw this, I lost a lot of respect for Roenick, not because I thought he was a baby, but he is supposed to be a straight forward, tell-it-how-it-is color commentator, and we see him having a big response just because he played for the team. Jeremy Roenick is it arguably the greatest Chicago sports figure to never win a championship. For sure one of the most exciting players to watch, ever, in Blackhawk's history. Anyone who knocks this guy clearly never had the chance to see him play.

He loved the fans of hockey, especially the fans in chicago. one of my most prized possessions is that autograph.

@goodbadugly16 It's funny because i knew EXACTLY what he was talking about when he said "it's the chicago blackhawks, man" because as a detroiter and redwings fan i've always loved to root against the blackhawks in the 90s when they had a stacked team and the redwings were also strong.
I have always had a sort of begrudging respect for the team because of that era of roenick, chelios, belfour etc, and people ask me why i like watching them and i say "it's the chicago blackhawks, man!"

I hope he becomes an "ambassador", like Savvy, Tony O, Hull and Mikita. Good to see some good blood back in the Hawks organization. I remember when everyone who left Chicago said good riddance and never wanted to come back. Makes me emotional thinking about the team I loved since I was a kid finally getting it right; for fans, ex-players and the whole city. Well done. I thought it was cool Roenick let all emotions out and didn't try to hide it up and "be professional". He was a huge part of the Chicago franchise in the 90's and has huge ties with the organization. I'm sure he's a huge fan of the team as well and I think it's cool that he showed his emotions like that. Hundreds of Hawks fans were crying too so why should Milbury call him out saying "Well I didn't get to do it either, but I'm not going to cry"?

That milbury was biased towards the flyers the whole series; probably had a bet in Vegas for the flyers to win. When I first saw him on my TV screen after the Blackhawks won I had both middle fingers out and was all "ha ha ha ha ha yououou lost!!!" at him. Having the nerve to say that to Roenick was just asinine. Great job Blackhawks!

I was one of those kids in 92' who was crying! After watching MJ n the bulls win in the 90's era, I thought for sure the Hawks would win it 18 years ago. I was wrong as usual! And yet another team from Pennsylvania came here 18 years later, and I thought to myself oh crap, here we go again. But JR is a classy man, and i'll never forget how he played when he was here in Chicago. i would like to thank the Hawks and the Flyers for reigniting the passion in hockey for a new generation. Go Hawks!!!

I'm a huge Bruins fan, but I was surprised how kinda cold Milbury was to J.R. Clearly, Roenick left his heart in Chicago and he was happy for them. Let him have his moment. But he pulls off the "There's no crying in hockey!" to him very well. Also the refrence to the kid who was upset when the Hawks got swept clearly stuck w/ him 4 a long time too.

Obviously JR was popular in Chicago, but he was popular here too. That display not only lacked objectivity for a national telecast but it was a kick in the teeth for Flyer fans who loved him.
