HALLEUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK U IM READING THIS BOOK 4 MY SUMMER READING 4 SCHOOL AND IVE BEEN HAVING A SEMI HARD TIME READNG IT WHOEVER POSTED THIS THANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNK U U ARE MY LIFE SAVOR PLZZZ ADD MORE
Dave Eggers is about as innovative and intelligent as a puss-filled cyst, and certainly less emotive. What a crock! Of course, if you pick the most sentimental subject of this inveterate era you're going to be revered like a God. Look at his self-righteous chin-grabbing. Excuse me while I go vomit.
I this is a briliant man with loads of raw talent he wrote one of my favorite books You Shall Know Our Velocity! All you cock smokers can keep coughing on that dick!
I don't yet understand the hatred toward Eggers that surfaces on sites like this one. I've read A.H.W.O.S.G. and am in the process of reading You Shall Know Our Velocity, and I love Dave Eggers. I may not love him in quite the same way I love a classically great author (James Joyce), but he deserves respect as a writer. He is inventive and captivating, without sounding amateur with his stream-of-consciousness, as Jonathan Foer sometimes is. Also, comparing him to Tyler Perry is crossing a line.
And if nothing else, Eggers ought to be revered for the life he's led and the service he's done. I encourage everyone who views this video to look into the projects he has headed for community literacy and inner city students.
One of my favorite book in recent years. It's categorized as a novel, but is actually the telling of the real life story of Valentino Achak Deng of Sudan.
in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck!! and i only did this because it freaked me out o.o
Would it be too much to critize the ignorance of people critisizing other people's ignornace. Intolerance can be so circular. Like a donut. Except fewer calories so people don't regret it as much afterwards.
It's sad to see such hateful commentary on such a masterpiece.
If you're going to give negative commentary on a work at least use more than a couple of words and make it constructive. There is no reason to make hateful commentary about a book, it's just silly.
By masterpiece, you mean ink-spattered sanitary napkins, correct? Eggers is the Tyler Perry of the modern lit movement. Everytime somebody farts there's a new Madea movie. Everytime Madea farts, Dave Eggers catches the stink in a Ziplock and stores it away for one of his zany African-American fart-huffing parties. No, wait. That's too clever for him.
@PeterOzanne Speaking of human rights abuses...here's one: reading Dave Eggers. The man should be tried for crimes against humanity and pilloried in the Hague.
Hi there! STFU? Eggers is a primo douchebag. A no-talent hack. Of course, you are what you consume, so I imagine you're a buddy booth slopbucket yourself, especially with the name "nycdude999." Shut up you bitter illiterate nobody. K? thanks.
You're an ignorant fuck. Do your research before you run your mouth, immature idiot. You are what is wrong with our country. Your mind is closed and consumed/trained (hence, your trainable username) by our mainstream media bullshit. You and your friends need to grow the fuck up fast and learn something. Open your mind, idiot.
omg dave eggers is an outstanding writer...even with his other books not having such an emotionally wrenching story his catharsis of thoughts and emotions is incredible
Please post some more of this video! It just stops in the middle of a sentence! I know anyone who sees this would love for you to post more - assuming you took more...
Thank you. I am a huge Eggers fan (and I absolutely love "What is the What"). Am I the only person btw who actually liked "You Shall Know Our Velocity"?
you know, i really wanted to like it, but for me it was just going nowhere! however dave eggers remains one of those human beings thats inspires me through their writing.
In reading Heartbreaking W.O.S.G., it's funny how close his narrative voice is to his actual voice. Not surprising, of course, but still- kinda funny.:`

most people who hate dave eggers are just jealous. He wrote a book that "anyone can write"
it reads like that but it isn't that's why people like him. because he wrote it for us. Stop being jealous

I agree. People who have not read "What Is The What" should not be making derogatory comments.
