Eva Cassidy's dynamics used to be somewhat contrived. Beth does it all seemlessly and effortlessly and her dynamics match the lyrics. Her tone is more jazz influenced and reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt. The overall package is immensely satisfying and complete.

I don't see what all the hype is about, maybe it's just the crappy live recording and ensuing crappy audio encoding, but her voice really doesn't sound all that impressive, I can barely make out the garbled lyrics and quite frankly I don't find it inspiring or sensational even in the slightest. *shrugs*

Maybe not "sensational" but still a good performance. I bet if we could hear it live it would have more of an effect. Also maybe the equipment is not that great, not "professional" and also I think she is singing in a bar of sorts. All things combined I think we are not getting the full effect.

If you can't understand the 'hype' about her you need your bloody ears testing! Sounds like you need to get yourself a bit of a music education and listen to her album before making such generalised remarks! I feel sorry for you that you're so ignorant that you can't appreciate her magic. She has a beautiful voice filled with soul and emotion remeniscent of Karen Carpenter and Eva Cassidy. To have a voice that combines those two great's qualities to me, is both inspiring and sensational.
