  • is it polyphonic?

  • @lukuntri nope, monophonic

  • CP2 51... looks awkward... the patch cords and knobs look messy... why does he fiddle with knobs which are at the rear... why arnt they better laid out???? dont seem to be ergonomic to me... and whats with the wood ends on these modules?????

What doesnt come across is what I expect these MOOG thingys to be solid raw power.... pure unadulterated shear volume, saturation and presence...well I hope

  • @lauleeta there is a video on youtube of him playing a cellphone, look up "Jordan Rudess meets wivi band"

  • and doing this sound will allow me to speak to R2-D2! =)

  • what the hell is the noise at 2 28

  • I always wondered how they made the Scooby Doo sound effects ;p

  • Is that a mooger fooger he's using with the little phatty?

  • "Forbidden Planet" anyone? :)

  • cp251+freqbox+littlephatty+beautiful girl= all i need

  • perhaps they should make a BIG PHATTY... with foogers built in..... maybe duophonic...or 4 voice

  • Amazing: Jordan and his toy =)

  • anyone know what studio monitors are in the back there? just curious..

  • 0:21 "Oh hi, didn't see you there."

  • I want one! Too bad they're out of the price range of any currently unemployed blind guy with a recent fascination with electronic instruments. Speaking of which, I recently heard that Moog has begun employing software in some of their synthes that would allow a totally blind user to sync with them. I'm curious if that's true and if so how exactly it would work. I already have a Moog theremin and would love to add an LP to my setup.

  • que marciano

  • wot edition is this little phattty??

  • where can i get a used one?

  • What program are you running in the background?

  • haha that was stupid of me to say that, i dont know who this guy is, never knew about this little device, im about to go play with my lil fatty now

  • I suppose these are cool sounds, but before I spend money on a synthesizer/keyboard, I want to hear it be played in a MUSICAL setting. Moog doesn't seem to apply these instruments in a rock n' roll setting, which is where a lot of their instruments end up.

  • Rudess uses this synth on Systematic Chaos, so it works for prog metal, no question!

  • listen to the metal band rwake, brittany uses a little phatty, shit deffiently sounds good.

  • you must admit these are better than the crap demos that say, BOSS does with washed up techies from the eighties showing off generic pedals with generic "rock 'n roll" guitar licks

  • If you can't figure out how to apply Moog to your "rock n' Roll" setting or any kind of music setting for that matter, then I suggest you just quit while your a head...good luck.

  • I agree with you, most synth players only create cool, yet useless (musically) sounds, flipping quickly through the keyboard trying to impress me somehow. This especially goes for Youtube. However, its a fun hobby messing around like this, and also, Ive seen and heard Moog alongside rock'n'roll with plenty of live bands, and it works great. Even Pink Floyd used a great deal of synths. Kaching~!

  • Maybe not in rock n' roll... not synth music. But it is certainly good for progressive rock and other electronic music.

  • Well, alot of the effects style playing/instruments like in this video is used in ambient and psychadelic contexts, whereas a Minimoog might be more suited for more traditional rock synth roles.

  • I always thought they ended up in prog no ?

  • pink floyd?

  • just listen to dark side of the moon, in particular on the run, breath, and speak to me. Rick Wright was one of the top 3 classic synth players, right along with Keith Emmerson and Rick Wakeman. Jordan Rudess is the next generation.

  • if you need to hear a moog synth used in a musical setting, just listen to rick wakeman or keith emmerson

  • what ? ''Moog doesn't seem to apply these instruments in a rock n roll setting'' what the hell are you talking about.. you know nothing about rock music, the beatles had a given moog around 1967 and used it, the doors used one in Strange days, pink floyd used it a lot... there's is million of albums featuring the moog

  • @thefaker10 go listen to dream theater, thats where the guy is from(jordan rudess).

  • @thefaker10 Have you ever listened to Dream Theater, Yes, Genesis, Transatlantic, Pink Floyd, to name a few? I mean in this same series, the "Glide" video shows some cool stuff. Check out the song Octavarium to hear Rudess use the Moog in DT.

  • hahháaaa ^^ .. coool Jordan ^^

  • rudess = god/genius!

  • Computer geek and musical geek! Jordan is the greatest!

  • ok i think this man can play music from anything!!! one day will see him playing some music using a cellphone!!! :D is a genious!!

Have you seen Rudess playing on his iPhone? :)

  • @lauleeta nice prediction :P

  • @lauleeta hahahahahahahaha

  • @lauleeta you are truly a visionary. He is already playing music with his iphone!

  • HOLY CRAP!!!! seiriously jordan is from another planet.... the wizaaaaaaard!!!!!!!! XD loveee hiiim!!!

  • These are so helpful. I really hope Moog keeps publishing these movies with Jordan. He's unbelievable clear, and makes me want to buy a ton of gear. Just ordered my FreqBox today!

  • amazing.

  • The cool thing about Jordan is that he is not only a phenomenal player, he also posesses an incredible knowledge of synthesizer programming techniques. His playing and programming go hand in hand. Whether he is sitting at a Steinway, Korg Oasys, V-synth, or some modular monster, he always seems to create something interesting and/or compelling.

  • Too true. The mans knowledge frightens me

  • great stuff

  • I've got a question: are there work differences between Moog Little Phatty tibute editon and stage edition? Thank you...

  • cool
