Just a hint from a lovely english lady: If you find the croc clip with the posts/studs too wobbly, poke the post into the earring-back and grip the back with the clip.
Noch ein schneller Tipp aus dem englischen Forum: Wem die Konstruktion Klemme-Stecker zu wackelig ist, der kann den Stecker auch in die Mutter stecken und diese dann mit der Klemme festhalten. Dürfte mehr Stabilität geben, einige dort haben es schon ausprobiert und sagen, dass die damit besser zurecht kommen.
@beadsbylara: Hi! No sooting. The studs are surgical steel, they turn blue-black in the flame, but this is no soot. I just rinse them once they are cold. But you could use some steel-polish if you wish to.

Cool! Did you get a lot of black sooting on your earring posts and if so, how do you remove it?
