  • I only remember Kokoro meaning heart, does it mean mind to~?

  • Comment removed

  • I hope that you dont mind but I edited the lyrics in a notepad to fit the songs syllable rate better and to fix the english :3 And btw the scientist was a boy

  • @soundares you put By Miku Hatsune in the description.............as far as I can tell, this is RIN.

I think you might want to change it XD

  • THE PERFECT PROGRAM......... KO KO RO

  • @VOCALOIDSUCKS

Baka. *bonks head* Don't be a troll.

  • @VOCALOIDSUCKS

...You are the stupidest most racist douche I have ever heard of. If you are so against Vocaloid ((best type of music ever!!!)), then why would you take the time to watch and comment on this video... Grow up and stop trying to push your preferences on other ppl, nobodies doing that to you... -_-

  • My parents don't understand the meaning of this song D:

  • @selenahat WTF IS WITH THEM???!?!

  • I like this song, but all I want to happen to it is that idiotic vocaloid fans stop basing their fanmade vocaloid on the story of the song. Seriously, its overdone.

  • 4 people were so excited they missed the like button

  • oh crap, im crying for a robot.

  • @sahomadashtifu a robot who died just like a human. :3 first she was a robot, then she obtained what made people human, and died just like them.

so, in a way, u are crying for a regular person..wait..not regular.....

  • That was beutiful! Rin, I'm sure your creator would really appreciate this song you made for him/her. You really do know how to use a kokoro.

  • Just as according to keikaku

    TLnote: keikaku means plan

  • Finally found the old original version of this song, I don't know about you guys but I think the fandubs suck. >_> Took me forever to track this one down after they removed the old one I had in my favorites! >XO

  • I don't feel sad, she died after accomplishing herself. She died happy.

  • It's not an anime.... Rin is a program that simulates human singing and harmony. Just like Miku Hatsune.

  • Both Kokoro and Kokoro/Kiseki have elements of sadness and joy within them, so I have no opinion on which is sadder, because, when you think about it, they both 'die' at the end of their respective songs.

I have to wonder if the original video, which is apparently this one, wanted to be bland. IMO, the other videos for this have a bit more storytelling involved.

And this is kind of random, but there are 3 Kagamine song series with Len's death (should add, though, 2 of them have Rin's death too).

  • I'm a bit late to the game, here, so forgive my ignorance. Which song series are you referring to? I'm curious.

  • It's okay, I was late myself.

One of the series (for both Kagamines' death)is Kokoro (made from Rin's POV) and Kokoro/Kiseki (made from Len's POV), and the other is Prisoner (from Len's POV) and Paper Plane (Rin's POV).

Another one with death is the Daughter of Evil series (which is about 3/4 songs, though there are spinoffs of that song from the 'co-star's' POVs), but as the main plot goes for the Daughter of Evil series, Len and a co-star are the only ones established dead.

    Hope it helps!

  • Another where they both die is Drowning Ourselves at the Cape.

And Len might not die in Fear Garden, but his arms are cut off.

  • @HenshinPen This is a pretty decent vid. I enjoy the ones that show why Rin was made. Cause the professor Len lost his daughter. Some vids show Len being left by someone. but always breaks down this is a Very sentimental song, can tear up just listening to the lyrics without the video. But the video does really help when you don't under the lyrics.

  • @HenshinPen This version isn't bland, it's simple. The producer made it that way so people could personalixe it and make their own story to it (i.e. Why the robot was made, how the scientist died, what the robot did as it overloaded, etc.). I don't understand why people fail to do this. Why do they need to have everything spelled out, don't they have an imagenation?

Sorry I know your comment is old. I just think this needs to be said. *ends rant*

  • @frostyman116 At least someone's aware of comment age, and it's alright.

I probably got spoiled in that regard then, like someone hearing a remix before hearing the original and saying "The remix sounds better."

  • @HenshinPen Yeah, I see what you mean. It's just been something thats been bugging me because I keep seeing people do that everywhere. For example with the VY series, I see people complaining that they don't have designs and how sad it is. And it's just like really?

  • I had enough of Len dying in all the sad PV's but I still love his. Though I think Rin's is much better.

  • Why does it say in the description that the vocal is by Miku?

  • oh ya i never saw cause theres no wy this is mikus voice. its obviously kagamine rin. anyway..

great song this song makes me sad espesialy the ending.once i found out what hppened it almost made cry

  • Yeah I didn't know that before cuz the first Kokoro video I watched was a cover.

  • maybe because it was used by miku but formed sound like rin because you can hear miku little bit at 0:54 - 0:56

  • You are probably one of the few people that actually read the descriptions, and no idea, maybe they can't read the video subtitles?

  • I know Len´s a little sadder, but ever if i hear Arigato i wanna jump and open my arms to say: YES I LOVE THE LIFE! ARIGATO. This Song cheer me up ^^

  • Why?

  • Len's is sadder because his POV is the creator -- he was the one that made the creation, that thought he failed it, that felt the creation come back and touch him -- the one that had the emotions in the first place to give to his beloved robot. <3

I would think that actually Rin's is sadder because she was left by the person she seemed to somewhat love, but people think otherwise. :/

  • Yeah I find rin's sadder because just when she gets the thing that she had been waiting for all her life, she dies.

  • Most people probably won't/don't notice, but whoever entered the actual Japanese text just took whatever the IME told them was correct, without actually proofreading it. (For example, halfway through the song, on screen it said "watashi ni", 「私二」 which means "me2", which makes no sense. It was supposed to read "watashi ni", 「私に」 which means more along the lines of "for me".)

Best to run this thing past a native speaker first, yes?

  • This ending of the story/song always makes me wonna cry, its so sad. :(

  • len's version is a little sadder though... :(

    annyways love the song <3

  • I want this version of the song.. O^O I can't find it anywhere.. T^T

  • You said"" lyric readable in Eng(romaji)]"""

Americans had to do a great work to read Romaji....

Romaji is readable in many languages like German, sweden, spanish, portuguese......... but not in english....

  • what the fuck are you talking about dude? (or dudette)

  • For example.... the word

ARIGATOU.... in english we read EIRIGEIO

but in other languages are ARIGATOU

    DESU in english is DISU

  • no we dont, i really dont know what your talking about coz we dont use any japanese at all. romaji is part of japanese language, and most people just put it under the hiragana and katakanka category, and dont say "romaji". when i read japanese i read it as japanese. i dont think anyone knows what ur talkin about man

  • Ah........

Forget it all Amelia-san.... If you speak another language you would understand it...

English people read wrongly the Alphabet

"A" is readed like" EI" for you

    E is readed like "Y"

    I is readed like AI

    O is readed like OU

    U is readed like IU

  • I think what you're trying to say is that technically, if you haven't really ever encountered Japanese in any form before, reading Romaji would be a bit difficult, because you would try to bend it to English rules in the beginning. While this is true, I'm inclined to think that if you've been listening to Kokoro enough to want to sing it, you should be able to decipher the Romaji, what with the general exposure to Japanese and the fact that you hear the proper pronounciations from the song.

  • I don't have problems with Romaji because is exactily the same pronouce that my language (brazilian portuguese)

  • Yeah, but I guess when I first encountered Romaji, I was a bit confused how to read it on first impression. Though I was already quite "saturated" with Japanese by then, so it must be worse if you've just started.

And since this may have been slightly off topic, just wanted to ask something: Is there an animated video with this version of the song? I think this is Rin's original, but any of the videos I see sound a bit different.

  • soundares, i thought the vocaloid singing this is rin kagamine not miku...... miku is the green one not the blonde one >>

  • exactly!

  • if the one singing is Rin why did you put Vocal by Vocaloid "Miku Hatsune" xD...?

  • its by zero7090

  • watch the real video itll make you cry more its so sad

    PLEASE READ COMMENT!!!

    its called (kokoro) version 2

  • its soo sad...and it just ahh the song is soo inspiring..T.T

  • ;~; ;~; ;~; ;~; I cry every time...

  • I keep hearing different versions of this. This one sounds more like....Rin...so i'm guessing that this is the original one.

This song is so sad..but I love it..it's simply beautiful

  • There are 3 of them, One sung by Rin, One sung by Len, and One sung by them both.

  • no, there's also a Namakonyuruko version, and a Miku version. Mikus is a little strange.

  • wow when i listin to this song my heart feel very strange its like i were rin(more len because i am male) who become a heart lol wierd

  • I'm crying....

  • T_____T

  • The saddest part begins at 3:14 ;___; I like it very much... my God, this means a lot to me...

  • Kokoro is heart, not soul.

  • tamashi is soul.

  • Actually, "kokoro" is "heart" in a meaning of "feeling". There are two words for "heart" in japanese, "kokoro" for feelings (Like: I adore that person with my hole haert) and another one, that I don't remember now, for "heart" in the "real" sense (like: This sickness that I have affects my heart). So it can be translated as "soul"

  • Isn't the second one... "mune"?

  • I always thought rin was a crazy bitch who tortured len untill i watched this >: this video makes me see rin in a positive way :D

  • Are there other videos with other views or more information of their story??

    Like with Servent of evil...

Who is the writer of the story??

    Sorry for so many questions!

    I´m nu beat on this...

    Thanx!!!

  • There's "Kiseki", "Kiseki" is the same story but told by the scientist.

  • kokoro is Hridaya

It is not in English though it is possible to translate into the Sanskrit word.

  • That is so sad.....I almost started crying. Now i understand what the other video with this song means...

  • TT^TT so sad! i never knew that ren died after the miracle stopped (i dunno if she did or not)

  • Do you mean Rin or Len? Cause it's plausible for her to die afyer that since her harddrive might not have enough memory or something...

Maybe, she obtained a human soul and died. Who knows.

  • pretty sure that when she used her KOKORO to sent the message back hundreds of year to Len (the scientist that made her), the KOKORO got too big for her to handle and she stopped functioning forever.

And that whole deal about KOKORO (it's confusing...), I think Len told her not to "use" it until he's gone. So hundreds of years after he died, Rin finally used KOKORO and sent that message thanking him for all his done.

  • and it said in len's song, "her song corrected her own mind, it is a chance that can happen once the kokoro is obtained"" or something, and i cant really explain what it means, what it makes me feel, but these two songs aree so beautiful.

  • and she kept running, singing her songs, but her feelings overflowed and she couldnt handle it, so she died, after she (and her future self) thanked the scientist

  • yup, I think that's it : )

  • I thought "Kokoro" meant "Spirit" ...? Ah, well. I still like the song. ^ ^

  • Kokoro means heart, I think.

  • It means heart and mind.

  • I watched a great alternate version of PV of 'Kokoro'.

    watch?v=JgvkH8pgXGA

  • so SADD ;-;

  • Would anyone be kind enough to hook me up with some romaji? This song has quickly become my obsession. orz Thank you so much!

  • I tried to add the link in info but failed on authorization... I don't know why but it happens a lot especially on this video...

I wish I could give you the link but comment doen's allow me so could you search

    ココロ romaji

    in Youtube?

That should get you the romaji one.

  • The following is a more fluent translation of "Kokoro." Please use it to subtitle the "Kokoro" videos:

A robot made by a lonely scientist

The result could only be called a "miracle"

    But it still isn't enough

Just one thing can't be done

That is a program called "Heart"

    Several hundred years pass

    Left all alone

    The miracle robot wishes

    (continued in replies)

  • I want to know what that person

Worked until the end of his life

    To make for me

    That "Heart"

Now it has begun to move

    Accelerating miracle

Why do the tears not stop...

    Why do I tremble?

    Accelerating heartbeat

    This is my desired "Heart"?

  • Mysterious Heart Heart Mysterious The joyful things I knew Mysterious Heart Heart Mysterious The sorrowful things I knew Mysterious Heart Heart Mysterious So deeply painful... Now I've begun to realize The reason I was born Surely it's lonely to be by oneself Yes, that day, at that time The "heart" that lives in all those memories is overflowing
  • Now I can say true words

    I dedicate them to you

Thank you... For bringing me into this world

Thank you... For all the days we spent together

Thank you... For everything you gave me

Thank you... I'll sing it forever

    (End)

  • Considering Soundares's translation policy, I think Soundares valued that the translation from one Japanese phrase to one English phrase more importanter than correct and fluent English..

  • I'm sorry I kept you waiting on your reply but I first thought you were someone I knew, so I really wasn't sure I could look at your comment with fairness. But with few days of rest I think I'm ready to write you back.

  • About your translation, I think it's fluent and nice so I think it will be nice if you could take your time to upload them in Youtube as your work. I think your translation is almost perfectly true to meaning and it could give people more idea on how Japanese lyric would really sound to Japanese. I also try to keep meaning true to lyric but I guess I focus more on keeping lyric with the song/rhythm that it tend to loose fluency.

  • But I guess I like doing it as hobby. So if you could do the translation on meaning as your work too, I think that would really be a help of Vocaloid fans.

Software I use are Virtual Dub with adds-on Vob-Sub(TextSub) and Subtitle Workshop.

  • Can you post the lyrics to the version for Rin, and len? I mean the japanese AND english?

  • I was asked the same request once....but I was waiting for someone to do it because I saw good translation in NICOVIDEO where I find these video and was thinking someone might upload them... if it wasn't uploaded this month, I'd upload them, and I could mail you since there's few more week till end of this month.

  • alrighty thanks. :3

I've always wanted the lyrics for both of them, cause they're versions sound good together

  • Thanks^-^

(And yeah other ones nice too, it's done by different creator but song draws scientist's side of view with some original story to it.^^)

  • yeah, duet's my fav.

I will hopefully get them printed and set in time together x.X

  • I just uploaded Romaji ver. on duet. Hope you like it^^

  • You don't know how much I love you XD

    I really love the original vocaloids songs but since I'm not very fluent with japanese *heck I don't even study it and just can get around the 5% of this kind of songs lol..* I have to do a lot of research about it and just to get around the 60% of the song ;_;

Do you plan on doing Kokoro-Kiseki? :O I just saw someone subtitled it at Nico Douga but still

Really thank you a lot for the translations~~ :D

  • i can't find the link to download.... or rather i can't see the jap words!!!! T.T i need this song in my mp3 24/7!!!

    can anyone help?!!!?!?!?

  • Hmm? You're right, the link isn't working. Karaoke version link was out as well so I reported the download site about it yesterday but it seems they haven't fixed it... I'll check with the author about it.

  • Link is fixed...Link was out because I wasn't supposed to link the file directly...T.T (and so many people were accessing the file from here) I've updated the link so please check that to get the mp3.

  • Thanks~ I have the stero version but I prefer this "robotic voice" version.

  • Oh wow...so that's what the lyrics meant, huh? Thank you for bringing it to light! I'm very moved by this song. Excellent work with the translation, my friend. =)

  • I'm glad this helped you understand the lyric^^

And thank you so much for the nice comment.

    It really cheers me up^^

  • Ah, good! ^_^ Happiness all around! =D

  • *^-^*

Thank you for the subscription too*^-^*

demo kono songu wa kanashii desu :(

(lol i hope i got that sentence right, im no good on japanese even though i've studied it for a year)

  • Thank you for the comment^^

    Your Japanese sound perfect;

I'm really surprised it's only a year of studies! Wow=D

And this song, I truely agree with you.

    Kore ha totemo kanashikute nakemasu(T-T

  • This song will completely fits Nagato Yuki (SHnY), it's so touching T____T

  • Thank you for the comment^^

I didn't know Nagato Yuki till now but as far as I read Wiki, she does seem to fit this song^-^

  • *clap clap clap* thanks for the effort to sub it. I finally understand what the song means. Just when I though the animation touched me enough, the song reached out further and touched my soul.

  • It's just great to know

I had chance to help you see the video

    that touched you deeply.

Thank you so much for the comment^^

  • nice video!!5 stars!!!,,though your english translation could be better,,^^

  • Yeah I've been thinking there's still work I could do on this one...like lonely scientist, I saw someone translate it "solitary scientist" and I think it's much more true to the original lyric. So you are right, I need to study more^^;

Anyway , thank you for your comment and rate^-^

  • oh!so you're japanese,,i did try to learn japanese,,but the only things i can do now are translate and answer questions,,^^,,this is my 15th time playing this vid and it's still good,,too bad there's no vocaloid here in our country,,

  • woot im so moved im crying this is truly beautiful

  • Yeah, it's beautiful and touching song... it made me cry too.

    Thanks for the comment.^^
