I thought of that right after it passed. On the upside this map screen isn't intrusive, time-wasting and billed as a dangerous place. I'm sure I'll find some sort of recurring annoyance to use as a motif. Map Screen didn't show up until the second or third part of IoG... and this game is even longer(shoot me).

You might be right. Link really does have an inability to smell, or at least a defect of his olfactory sense. In Majora's gets a mask to help smell shit.
