It is hard to believe that porky is still there, braving the emements after all this time. Does anyone know when he was installed? He was there when I lived in the area 1970-76. Cabin John park also had metal teepees and the cockpit of a real airplane to climb in at that time. I love the glum voice of Porky- though he really seems to care about the broken glass. I have a feeling the man who laid down the recording also had to clean the thing out!
@phogroian Late reply but my guess, is sometime in the late 1960s. The train passenger cars were built and delivered to the park in 1967 and it began running that year or 1968. My guess is Porky came around that time. I've been going to the park since I was young and am one of the train engineers. Great fun and while Porky has had some issues lately, I also find it hard to believe he has lasted so long. I believe the voice was a Park Manager.
Here's some information on the F7U Cutlass Fighter Jet cockpit/slide that was at the park::

Naturally the first thing any self-respecting kid would do upon hearing that admonition would be to find a glass bottle. I mean, duh.
