"what's the point if you hate and kill for love" is a fairly obvious reference to religion, similar to eddie vedders lyric "I can kill cause in god i trust"... I don't think you could ruin this song if you tried. fair play though, i always like background info on songs. I recently discovered james taylors "fire and rain" is referencing his experience of electroshock therapy(fire) which was always followed by ice cold water(rain). crazy.
