  • I had this game taped and I remember on "NBA showtime' halftime report, Hannah Storm, DR.J., and Peter Vescey were discussing if they thought Rodman tried to get Ewing hurt on this play... But bad knees and all - Patrick jumped over Rodman's head

  • GET DUNKED ON......by Patrick Chewing

  • See: Shannon Brown dunks over Jason Richardson

  • blade doesnt just hunt vampires, he hunts clowns

  • Man, players back then were crazy

  • @oneman91 that is a warmup dunk for blake griffin today

  • Im not hating or anything, but is that a travel or more specifically a crab dribble?

  • sid vicious play of the day, lmfao!!!!

  • lol Dennis Rodman is such an ass hole not jumpping , haha

  • it looks like hes dribbling a softball

  • ha worm made him pay with out owie for stealing his inbound

  • keep pressing 1

  • HUGE travel how the hell did they not see that

  • ha ha... and the big dumb prick, hurt hiself too..... trying to be too fancy!

  • @mickjoG you suck

  • Comment removed

  • travelling

  • a true warrior ... not affraid of anything .... ppl always say abt how ewing got posterised so many times its cos he contested ANYONE who came inside time n time agn. no wonder his body caved in with plays like this one .... throwing his whole body on the line without fear of serious injury just to dominate his opponent.

  • i give it a 10! lol

  • I remember watching this dunk when I was a kid! This is very rare for a center to make this type of play. Ewing's nuts were in his face! Ewing was a warrior for sure. He wasnt afraid to contend shots and get dunked on if he had to...and he was known to have the most vicious dunk in the game(Along with Shaq). He was one of Jordan's great rivals for a reason. Jordan sat next to him when his jersey was retired. Talk about respect.

  • fck all this travelling debate. Patrick Ewing is sacrificing his body with 3 sec left in the quarter!!! How many superstars would do that today? Most of them would take a buzzer beater shot rather than taking it to the rim with 3 secs left. Ewing was definately the heart of the Knicks and they are still missing one

  • what a travel

  • Dwight howard???? Yeah he's a huge athletic cat.... but he lacks HEART..hes always grinning and clowning...ewing would have dominated howard hands down...the magic havent won a game yet...boston is gonna sweep em'. the days of the NBA warrior is gone. Lebron wouldnt have been dominant in the 90's at all. olajuwan, barkley, ewing, coleman, oakley, rodman....Lebron would have laid down with all the beatings he woulda took...!

  • People talk shit about Patrick Ewing but seeing what he did on the court, how hard he played. I'm glad I never took him for granted. I never booed him, never wanted him to be traded. And ever since he's left the Knicks have been shit.

Watching clips like this just makes make me realize even more than ever how lucky us Knick fans had it. Yeah they never won but those teams in the 90's had the entire city rooting for them.

  • @Equint77 Right on Equint.....well said!

  • @Comrade4Life Word. Even in the end when he wasn't the same. You had people in the garden booing him (Those weren't real fans, real fans can't afford tickets in Madison Square Garden).

  • @Scottdvz Very true my man.....look at the garden now, cats who have tickets dont even love the game...its a BS status symbol to have tickets nowadays

  • Yes, it's a travel, but kind of hard to tell without the slow motion, coz it looks like a hop step. Just his feet didn't land both at the same time after the hop, so it's traveling.

  • He traveled.

  • Pau Gasol is not a center

  • Damn, Ewing took the subway then transferred to the bus on that travel.

  • that dunk is what ended patrick ewing career he was never the same after he got hurt after that dunk be he was one of the all time great centers

  • Haha, he traveled so badly. 4 steps much?

  • 4 steps? noo

  • ... Count it. It was 4 steps...

  • hahahahah talk about payback

  • gasol is starter wereva he goes no matter wat era it would b in hes one of da best big men on d league n has da ability to take u off da dribble sometin dat not alot of seven footers can do in da league n for dose who said dere r no centers in da league today dat can play all i got to say is dwight howard "superman"

  • @elkile777 gasol is great, but in the 90s he would have been bitched!

back then at least 4 of the best centers ever were in their prime and there were a lot good ones along that would make it very physical and that's gasol's weackness.

  • Rodman you might as well just stay DOWN, you have NO Chance in HELL to block that DUNK... Patrick gets the BALL in the open court like that He'll hand it to YA every single TIME!!!

  • i saw this live while in a laundromat.

  • Looks like Patrick was imitating an MJ leaner dunk lol

  • Paul Gassol or what ever his name is would be a bench warmer in the 90s

  • or worse.

  • Word! Spelling his name wrong just shows how bad he is!!!

  • Amazing

No center in today's game can even try to pull this off...centers today are a joke compared to the 90's era of centers

  • centres are a joke? its a different game today mate. i'll give credit where credit is due, the big guys of the 90's were amazing, but accross the world the game is getting faster and big back to the basket guys are less effective thus being phased out. before you reply all heated, really think about what i've said, u'll realise there's some truth to it

  • @stevielicious3. I agree with you and the guy you replied back to. Yes today's game relies on speed mainly due to the rule changes as refs are not letting you even come 2 ft of a guy anymore without it being called a oul. I think the other guy's point was that Centers in the 90s were amazing and many of the greatest centers ever played in the 90s. Today you got Dwight Howard who's a stud at Center and thats about it.

  • @oneman91 they are just meat heads.

  • @oneman91 dwight howard could do that dunk

  • @jerster8

Can Dwight Howard even get the steal in the first place?...Howard would travel with the ball even before the dunk attempt because he has no dribbling ability

  • @oneman91 dwight howard actually lead his team in steals last year but yeah he cant dribble and would have done one of his stupid offensive fouls

  • @oneman91 ive actually seen dwight howard dribble from end to end twice. and hes pretty fast

  • @oneman91 if ur sayn that no one in todays game can pull off that dunk ur forgettin that dwight howard plays in the nba

  • @oneman91 so true ... ewing in his prime would destroy any current day centre ... it wouldnt even be a contest.

  • @oneman91 come man have you not seen Dwight Howard?

  • @oneman91 what was so amazing about this?

  • @oberg123 It was Patrick Ewing... 'Nuff said!

  • @oneman91 now its the power forward era, Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka, Amare Stoudemire etc

  • @oneman91 Are we forgetting Dwight Howard......?

  • @Mayfield070796 dwight is very athletic ... and is more athletic than Ewing ... but he has a long way to go to even be compared to Ewing as a basketball player. Dwight plays agnst mostly non dominant big men in todays era ( i cant even think of any). Ewing held his own agsnt the likes of Robinson/Olajuwan/Oneal for many, many years.

  • @oneman91 so true. i can only name a few very athletic centers. most of them now are just big guys who stand next to the hoop waiting for drives to block them. i would say that Nene and Dwight Howard are quite athletic though

  • @oneman91 The 90's were the best years of the NBA!

  • he traveled so bad

  • lmao he dunked then got hurt

  • thats why u dumb fuck he just stood there and got ownd

  • dumb bitch Rodman didn't even jump! no shit Ewing will get the dunk. That like a guy winning a fight while the other guy is just standing there.

  • That guy must have opened a snickers or something.... LOL 5/5

  • Yeah this was the year that they suspended the players for the team fight.I think EWING and johnson one game and Oak and starks the next, they split them up in two games! That was a strategic move by the League, the Knicks would have won that year, chicago was shook! It was all politics. David stern and the league wanted to protect their cash cow "Michael Jordan" Dont get me wrong Mike was the best, but they babied him like no one in the history of the game. That year the KNICKS were robbed...

  • Amen

  • @Comrade4Life thank you for posting this there was alot of Politricks going on even with Xavier McDaniels not being signed Mike knew the Knicks was there SMMDH

  • @Comrade4Life Oakley was never suspended, Ewing, Houston and Ward were suspended for game 6, and John Starks and Larry Johnson were suspended for game 7, and the reason they split the suspensions was because the Knicks would have been under the league minimum of players available to play if they all would have served their suspensions in one game so the Knicks basically robbed themselves for starting a fight

  • @MrKing8050 regardless who was suspended for what games, that was a total strategic set-up.Robbed themselves huh... name any other NBA team whose players were, suspended in that manner. Totally a calculated strategy to break up the team and weaken their chances of beating the bulls. That season Knicks and Bulls were both 2 and 2..tied up in the reg season encounters. Awww are you bulls fans afraid to admit that the NBA corporate and financial strategists didnt want the Bulls to win? Naive fools

  • @Comrade4Life and you must be whiny NY fan that cries whenever their teams dont get their way, the reason why players were, suspended in that manner was because Knick players left the bench, look up the NBA rules and it states any player that leaves the bench during a brawl they will get suspended, and Knick players did that

  • @MrKing8050 Learn how to formulate sentences so people can understand them.... your grammatical skills and sentence structure sucks! During this era in the mid to late 90's, when the NBA was blood and guts, and players endured hard fouls, there were many team fights. No other team in the history of the league EVER experienced this type of suspension...and many teams left benches in brawls in the league during this hard-nosed era of basketball..un-informed CLOWN. You bulls fans hate the truth huh

  • @Comrade4Life why dont look up the nba rules before you speak, you crying ass cuntbag!!!!, back then anybody that left the bench would get suspended, thats why you hardly saw those type of fights back then

  • @MrKing8050 You've got to be joking....

  • @Comrade4Life You ignorant clown, you have no idea do you? THAT era had more fights than any other NBA period, The Pacers, The Suns...the league clamped down on hard fouls after that time.Your a pussy aren't you, did i offend you? Make you feel threatened? You must be the kind of coward who fears walking the streets..HAHAHAHA.."cuntbag" ...you sound like a typical, unintelligent lame, you probably never played sports...never could defend yourself... your probably in law enforcement ..Coward.

  • @Comrade4Life True, however something to note: You responded to yourself, lol

  • @MrKing8050 Ohh shut up! They didn't rob themselves, they got hosed.

  • @Comrade4Life I felt the same way that year. I love the MJ and the Bulls, but that was the year the Knicks were going to take them down. I still think there was some kind of conspiracy behind Knicks suspensions that year.

  • @Comrade4Life Rodman didnt even contend, and Ewing was hurt afterwards. LOL. The Knicks couldnt win a title with Jordan completely out of the league. They never beat the Bulls with Jordan in the playoffs during the dynasty. The Bulls own the Knicks. Dont get ME wrong either, I have many posters of Patrick Ewing, only thing is Jordan is dunking over him in all of them. I love "The Dunk" too.. Jordan comes over late and doesnt even come close to attempting. Starks couldnt hold Jordans Jock.

  • @seconddoug

Ok i guess you dont listen clown... The NBA , and STERN specifically protected Jordan, in an overt bias way.. Ewing never had a great second scorer like jordan had Pippen, give ewing barkley, reggie miller-and it would have been a different story. You couldnt even brush Jordans Jersey without the ref calling a foul. Jordan was a spoiled, arrogant, whiney Ho.. Kinda like you sound.

Hey Doug, speaking of Jocks, it seems YOU probably fantasize about smelling Jordans. LOLOL you clown!

  • Allot of SUPERSTARS in the NBA were given exceptions, like JORDAN, you couldnt even graze his jersey without the refs calling a foul, it was insane. Yeah the league let PATRICK get away with the extra step..so what. Now as far as his game, he was a beast, he dominated all of the centers in the league in his prime except OLAJUAN. Ewing cant dunk? get the fuck outta here! this is you tube so go check his highlites. He was injured and past his prime in this clip but still a warrior...haters.

  • Ewing had very small hands for a big man, thats why he couldn't dunk for crap..lol

  • The sad thing is he got hurt after the only major dunk of the year he had...

  • Ah yes, the good old days of NBA centers who were allowed to cover half the court with one dribble...

  • lol patrick cant dunk but that was ok if he would of landed it

  • lawl 4 steps!!!

  • Partick?

    Sup Ryan?

    AHHHHHHHHHHRH

  • traveled his nuts off

  • travel

  • Patrick Ewing with a HUGE travel.

  • travelling lol

  • What u guys talking about he took 2 steps, even though he stopped dribling the ball it was still kind of in the air, then he held it, and it was after he held it he took 2 steps, that's the nba rule it's how many steps u take after holding the ball, watch the video slowly, LOL he jumped right over rodman. Rodman was totally postarized.

  • What the fuck is wrong with you? You don't think that thewas a travel? Are you retarded? He took two steps then two more with his jump step before he shot. Are you fucking stupid or do you not know the rules of the game? How can you watch this video in slow motion, no less, and come to the conclusion that Ewing only took two steps after picking up his dribble? HOW CAN YOU DO THAT if you aren't retarded? Suck a dick, I'm so sick of you morons defending NBA travels because you can't be honest.

  • Dude..it looks like he's taking about 4 steps so yes, that would be a travel.

  • Americans are blind, they see the dunk and go, couldn't of been a travel, that looked good, not even the ref saw it

  • lol Patrick Chewing smiled and then his fat ass was like ohhhhhh

  • The sloppiest fucking dunk ever!

  • 4 STEPS!!!!

  • lmfaoo took 4 steps

  • Ewing was broken after this dunk. lol

  • lmaoo, dude stopped dribbling at the 3 point line

  • did that halfcourt shot after the dunk go in? looked like it

  • rodman tried to undercut his ass!

  • Patrick!

    Whats up Rodman.

    AGHHHHHHHHH!!! BOOM!!

    oops

  • LMAO

  • Pat says: Ouch!

  • TRAVELED BIG TIME AHHAHA

  • GODAAMMMM HE

  • He had such narrow shoulders for a guy his size. I mean u look at Dwight Howard compared to Ew, Dwight looks like his shoulders are over-developed

  • yeah! haha, dwight looks like he has wings. his shoulders are massive

  • yeah dwight's shoulders are strangely big

  • I remember this game... the knicks BLEW THE BULLS OUT OF THE BUILDING.. this was the 72-10 bulls and they lost by like 35. On national TV no less.

  • if this was 97 it was the year after the 72-10 season

  • I counted 4 steps! haha. still dope tho!

  • Yeah Pat was quite the big traveler in his days

  • traveling!

  • Man i don't think centers are this athletic

well dwight is different he's like a patick ewing and david robinson kids version just not as legendary and his mentor was patrick ewing

  • stfu dude you have no idea what the fuck your talking about

  • calm down......

i don't see yao ming this athletic. i don't see shawn bradley this athletic... i don't see alot of centers back in the day athletic

  • Patrick Ewing is the man, unfortunately he didn't show up against the Rockets in the NBA Finals.

  • He did. Starks missed too many shots in game 7.

  • Ewing got his points put his FG% was awful. I agree with you about Starks, but Ewing was outplayed by Olajuwon for most of the series, unfortunately.

  • That doesn't mean the Knicks couldn't have won. It was bad coaching by Riley. He should have sat Starks down after he missed some shots, and brought out Rolando Blackman from the bench. Riley admitted it himself.

  • ewing's a dumbass

  • lol was it worth it?

  • Patrick?

  • WHATS UP RYAN?

  • tell that to scotty pippen.

  • If he played his whole career that way, he might have won a few titles, but I've never forgiven him for that ridiculous finger roll at the end of the Pacers' series in '95! WILLIS REED WAS MR. KNICK!

  • Nice effort from Patring Ewing. It's a travel though.

  • What video are u watching??? travel I don't think so

  • WHAT!!! he took 3 fuckin steps haha

  • It's a travel, definitely.

  • That was awesome. Ewing was loading up to break Rodman's arm off in the goal. Rodman was just a little too smart to try to stop that freight train.

  • hell yea!

  • He called that one the flying gorilla

  • lmao

  • rofl

  • TRAVEL!!!

  • man das waren noch zeiten!! basketball im DSF!!

  • See 0:44 it's a travel from Patrick Chewing.

  • no t really

  • See 0:47 he takes 4 steps

  • gotta give an old school man his size those 4 steps ;p

    <3 Ewing

  • travel.

    but still awsome!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate that that many steps are allowed in the nba. he shuffles his feet then takes 2 steps to the rim. wtf..... that's a travel in middle school, pickup games, high school, college, and etc etc.

why didn't emmitt smith or gale sayers play basketball? they might as well let them tuck the ball in their armpits and run it in.

  • ya and then he fucking dies after the dunk

  • "i am too old for this shit"

  • three steps.

  • damn when you're injured from a dunk, it must be beastly

  • damn he traveled!

  • lol yea he did !

  • travel

  • ya know, he could dunked from the free throw line... look at where he jumped, OFF TWO FEET

  • the nba lets star players get away with things like that.

  • I love Patrick Ewing. I remember back when I was little, like a todler in 1994, I couldnt say Ewing so I said 'Nooning' everytime he appeared on the TV screen or I would see a man with a basketball in his hand!

  • It was travelling! Clear like the sun! NBA basket have this problem, rules are not respected to make a better show.

  • Did Chewing f'ed up Rodman on that dunk or did Rodman f'ed up Ewing, lol

  • Jamaican Dynamite baby!!!

Thank you for the memories Pat =)

  • Get dunked on by Patrick Chewing

  • he never traveled you dumb moron

  • AHHH! Oops.......

  • i love Patrick Ewing, but that was a travel haha

  • The awesome force that is Patrick Ewing defies the laws of the NBA...

  • Patrick Ewing was the NBA's all-time leading RUSHER...lol
