Me and my father have a bad relationship but MGB is the one thing that we both like. He had them on CD when we were driving to Florida for a cruise. MGB is the only thing that keeps me from getting mad at him.
did you know matt good always wanted to be a soccer player? that was his real career dream. the matt good football club. thank god he went into music and not a sissy sport like soccer. love his music
Thank you for posting this song. It's my favorite MGB song of all time. I ordered Beautiful Midnight long ago (when it came out) from Amazon and wasn't into making mp3's. I traded the cd after some years and missed this song. I tried to reorder the cd but they shipped me the U.S. version instead! I was SUPER pissed. Anyway, you've made my day 'emilyrl'!
This song makes me think ...alot ..itss like a relief ...??? no what i mean bout that its wonderful...its like everithing is relax in your mind you just feel like your in a different world ...different place this song is one of a kind somethinn speciall ...... reply me if you people know what i meann ???
Same makes me think too much... Not in a relief kind of way though. I know what you mean about feeling like your in a different world that's for sure and it is a relaxing song. I can't wait to go home...where ever that may be...
Thank you so much for posting this tune. I used to go to CABE and miss the coast a whole hell of a lot (in Alberta now). I've looked for this song but never knew the title, this reminds me of driving to Burnaby Mountain to smoke weed and stare at the city... thanks again!!!!
@emilyrl the best thing about your post, to me, is that you believe in this music. This is an artist that saved me from an addiction to hurting myself. though he's very morbid lol I think the honesty is what helps. I'm glad that when I was 18...my mind still understood what he was trying to say. most 18 year olds can't think passed their hormones. Thanks to you, Matt and all the others who have mentally taken the "red pill" and woke up!
@nucca0man Thank you, I appreciate that. I've been listening to him for years, trying to turn anyone I can onto his music. I too, can identify with his themes.
So many people Hear music, but they dont really Listen to it.
@emilyrl I agree. To me, if music doesn't say anything, it's just noise. Pretty noise to some, but still noise. Music without meaning, is the choice of the simple, the choice of uncreative and the choice of the anti-poetic dogmatic ignoramus, who wants life and everythin to be simple everywhere, so that way the world isn't too intellegent for him/her. Pretty much every single MG/MGB song says something, and sounds wonderful to boot. That's why I've been listening, for over 15 years.
Beautiful Midnight is a god damn masterpiece!

From Indiana. After buying "Beautiful Midnight" I made and wore a navy blue tee shirt that read "Coquitlam" for years. I still miss new wave.

I miss new wave now more than ever...
back in that era, where people still had faith in the economy, where people still had freedom, where people went to work in twin towers...
Where everything seemed like it would last forever.
Things weren't perfect, but the 21st century started off quite grim, and things aren't getting any better.
Matt Good on the other hand = Forever Incredible

I miss new wave and I also miss (missed?) getting laid by a golf course in Coquitlam. A perfect venue at which to get laid at.
Matthew Good is... well... there are few strong enough words to express what an incredible, amazing artist he is.
Thanks for posting this awesome song.

Matt Good is a genius. By far the best singer/songwriter we've had in a LONG time. I've been a fan since '95.
