Disappointed to see that this excellent speech did not receive a standing ovation while Mr. Bernal's heartfelt but largely disjointed speech was jumped to with giddy elation. Do we only bother standing up for celebrities? How exactly does that fit within the WOLA mandate, or, indeed, the mandate of any social justice group? We will not change the world so long as we continue to blindly worship the powerful, even those who among them who are part of the project to create a better world.
