@kanguesso Omoplata is from a different position.. In this YOU roll to get the tap, as where in the omoplata the opponant rolls to escape. Simalar but not the same....
reilly i notice he uses his elbow to block his opponents head is it to prepare for the roll? in 0:23 he he possitions his right arm over his opponents head position before sub?
Yeah. I learned it a few years ago from a forum. When I proudly showed it to my ne waza coach he said: "Nice, it's the same move [some russian guy in the 70's] used. We practiced it last week when you weren't here" :)
Around here nobody ever seems to use it but me though. Only hit it once in competition. He managed to get his arm out after I had turned him over but I got the osaekomi.
@newaza2boddha That's the point, this is not new. But people are talking like it was created by sport BJJ players, not there since before most players and coaches were born.
@Five5six Like who? Not that I do BJJ, but am curious about what you're saying. Because I have met plenty of BJJ people that do this too. Perhaps the people you describe are beginners?
Reverse Omoplata...there are a couple of tutorial vids on Youtube. His is a little different because of the angle of the roll. Nice seeing it used in an actual competition.
Nothing but an omoplata!

Why do that if you could just take his back and go for a basic choke?

@SakoYo in Sport Sambo, chokes are not allowed, only in Combat Sambo they are allowed.

I love how people start seeing this in BJJ and they think it's new.

@Five5six
just curious.... why is it new? A lot of these moves are universal. Created at the same time or recreated at different time among different people.
