To all you " environmentalists " out there . Tell me , what is the answer . Give me one because I need one . I work in the home health field of medicine and take care of adults that wear diapers . I reuse those "evil" bags to throw them away . So, am I supposed to pas the bill to people that can barely afford my services , pay for bags myself and charge the bill to you "tax payers " (trust me I will write it off as an expense for work) or expose all of you to hazardous waste
According to a study released by TEI Analytical, half of reusable shopping bags made with Non-Woven Poly Propylene (NWPP) contain an unhealthy amount of lead. Many of the bags that are supposed to save the planet contain more than 100 parts per million (PPM) of toxic heavy metals — violating state laws. The study tested bags distributed by national chains such as Walgreens, Rite-Aid and Harris Teeter.
CVS Pharmacy was found to have 500 PPM – five times the allowed limit
