@kiliparrot I tried this with my cockatiel and she is really getting along well! I hold millet next to my hand to tempt her to fly to me. Thank you very much for your YouTube help videos!
@deviouzly Using these methods? Sure. But it won't be easy, could require more training and patience. I would definitely recommend the training perches for that sort of endeavor.
@deviouzly its possibel if its tamed and if not , first work on that. although i don't think that its needed to train this way if your parrot is tamed. I got my wild bird to be quite tamed, he lived outside and was outside all the time unless id get him in. Then he got used to know where his home is. Thing is that these birds sleep in tall grass, and ununfortunately it got killed by a cat because there were many in the neighborhood. I was very sad. I had other birds but they weren't alwasy out

@KittehKatCod The training perches can be ordered from my parrotwizard site (link on my channel). You can learn more about target training from my other videos and articles on my trained parrot blog.
I have a parakeet and he some times standing on my finger but his nails.... it stings a little bit so when i feel this i put him back. How do i can let it not stings or can i do something better??
@blackfrog320 Yes. Like clicking your tongue, saying good, or using the top of a snapple botttle. A clicker is the best because it's a consistent sound and much easier to use during training.
@abyrne45 Sure, I think any parrot can learn to flight recall by name like this. My parrot comes and finds me when I call her so yeah it can be done from another room. I highly recommend buying my Parrot Training Perches for teaching flight recalls like this. There is a link from my channel to where you can buy a set. Check out my other videos to see around the corner out of sight flight recalls and more details about teaching a parrot to recall.
very cool. im trying to get one of these. qouestion: can they sit on your shoukder and stay there for a while like if i wanted to play video games with it on my shoulder would it stay?
I love the sound her wings make when she flies! Also, I'm glad you are careful with where you let her fly and use a harness when outside. Our senegal (Loki) never learned to fly, but we're careful where we let him go.
hey! nice bird! have you ever tried free flying him outdoors? if not, do you plan to in the future? you think i can teach my cockatiel and lovebird to recall?
@MakMak1993 I don't freefly her outdoors and probably never will for several reasons. First off she was clipped as a baby and she will never be a superior flier. Secondly I live in a densely populated city and I worry too much that if she ends up in someone's backyard, it would be too difficult to recover from private property. I do fly her outside on a harness so you should check out that video.
I will never support or recommend trimming feathers. Parrots grow wing feathers so that they can fly. If you do not desire a flying pet, get a hamster or something else instead.
I have to parrots but all they wanna do is bite. Do u have any tips on how I can get them to stop trying to bite me? because I wanna teach them tricks. Oh and was kili injuried?
No, she was not injured. Why would you say that? If you are talking about the gaps in her wings it's cause she's molting.
As for biting, go watch my video called "Parrot Bites Person - How To Train Your Parrot to Step Up Without Biting" which you can find on my channel page. I would post the link but it doesn't let you in youtube comments. Also be sure to check out the blog posts that video links to because I wrote extensively about this technique.
I have the same kind of bird as you they are awesome!

Does this method work with all parrots including cockatiels?
lemurfan123 4 weeks ago
@lemurfan123 Worked for a Senegal Parrot, Cape Parrot, and Budgerigar so I don't see why not. I think it would work with any bird really.

hey i was wondering if instead of using the clicker if you could use like a different sound/noise ?
