For anyone who has ever read the novel, you know that the film adaptation is lightweight and does not resemble the gruesome novel very much. For instance, in the novel, there's a scene where Bateman drills out a woman's teeth (so she can't bite down) and proceeds to stuff his hand down her mouth to rip out all her throat vitals...Another scene is where he puts a woman's severed head on his erect dick, to test if his hardon can hold the weight...the film is lightweight, at best
