well now since the cheating era is over Michigan State might have a chance to win couple big ten titles, Ohio State is done...sorry buckeye fans we'll see you in 5 years, the only teams in the Big Ten heading in the right direction are Nebraska, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Penn State. I was a freshman at MSU at the time of this game. The 1997 season was VERY frustrating. It was just stereotypical MSU football. At times, they could look like the best team in the country (as they did here), while 1 or 2 weeks later, they could look like an absolute joke (as they did in getting CLOBBERED by Washington in their bowl game just weeks after this game). The team seems to be slowly but surely getting more consistent under Dantonio though so we'll see what happens.

Penn State were 2 1/2 point favorites. me and Craig tried to bet $2000 on PSU. He couldn't get a hold of his bookie until 10 minutes after the start. We were saved.
