I am actually an American who splits my time between Singapore and Shanghai. (I've been in Singapore for 16 years, with about the past 7 or so being spent half in Shanghai, half in Singapore.) It's been a while since my last visit to Beijing, but I am hoping to make it there again soon.
I don't have to be away from Shanghai for long before I start to REALLY miss the food!
Are you China Chinese who live in Singapore? I am! :) I really miss Beijing's food too. I had been to Shanghai last year and the food is really heavenly. :)

I agree, the food in Shanghai was fantastic last time I visited. Look forward to something new every time I go.
