What I want to know is how he feels about tax policy. Does anyone know the specifics? He says he wants to eliminate the corporate income tax, but he wants to tax marijuana.
I agree a lot with him. but with either Johnson or Paul, my biggest concern is regarding their foreign policies specifically regarding security. They need to give us specifics in that area. Johnson could win me over if he confirmed a stronger stance on national security versus Ron Paul.
@stockjonebills Yeah I sympathize with you, but I would like to stress the simple questions: Are we any more free and safe? The draconian policies forced on the American people, coupled with the propaganda machine's help, have hardly made us any safer; we are hardly any more free.
@stockjonebills watch Gary Johnson's discussion with the panel on Brett Baier from last fall. GJ goes into specifics with how he would handle affairs in the Pacific.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that has an unwavering record of defending our Constitution and addressing the problems that our country is facing. He had the foresight to predict and warn about the consequences throughout the years and the knowledge to put us back on the right track to restore our Constitutional Republic to be yet again a great nation. The rest do not have a record to stand that mirrors what they now say - Ron Paul does.
Gary Johnson is the best presidential candidate for the american people. He has the most logical and ethical economic solutions for this nation as a whole. I ask that you at least research him, and if you do not, if I did know you, I'd have to ask, why are you voting when you do not have all the facts? Why vote only for your own sake instead of for the sake of our nation . Take some time and read, and see what else is out there? besides what the media tells you
I like Gary Johnson. I do. But I'd like to see him speak up a bit more without regard to whether or not it gets him on the stage at the next debate (though I certainly understand the importance.) Just keep speaking the truth, Gary, some of us are listening, more will prick their ears your way in the coming years.
The USA´s big issue is warmongering. Imbeciles like GW Bush was perp walked by the military industrial complex. USA should have invested in Americans at home instead of on wars abroad. The republican party needs to weed out these maniacs and concentrate on guys like Gary Johnson. True, Ron Paul also made a good impression but I think he lacks the flexibility of mind and only says what he thinks people want to hear. Ron Paul´s unsettled issues with racism may still be an issue among his voters
So many people here libertarian leaning candidates like Johnson or Paul and think that they are taking an ideology to an extreme. This is simply a pejorative way of saying they are consistent. People who have principles but say "You can always take a good thing too far," don't have real principles. They want control (whether they are conscious of it or not.)
The think I don't like about Johnson is that he never brings up foriegn policy. He has a great understand of free market economics and understands fiscal issues, but when it comes to the military industrial complex he is silent.
@residentzombie No he talks about it on occasion you just have to dig deeper on here and you will find it. He basically says we are spending 43 cents out of every dollar to rebuild other countries and that we wont be helpful to other countries when we are bankrupt we need to worry about self defense and getting out of debt to be able to help other countries in the future, he also says if anyone attacks us we would have to take care of it.
@grouchysmurff The point is is that he avoids bring it up as much as possible and that isn't good. I don't think Johnson is a neocon in disguise, but avoiding foreign policy as much as he can worries me. Anyways, even though I like Johnson, since Dr. Paul is running, I will be throwing my support behind Ron. Wouldn't mind a Paul/Johnson ticket thought as long as President Paul appoints Judge Napolitano to the Supreme Court.
@residentzombie he has expressed that he would want to pull all of our soldiers out tomorrow, he does not belive that our military belongs in other countries unless it is imideate defense of our own. he said this on john stossel's show June 9th
@sxdarknessxs No offencse dude, but Kucinich is a progressive who wants big powerful government. Progressives are not friends to libertarians for they would force on us their way of life and would most likely jail us for refusing. Not to mention they would strip us of our personal and financial liberties and inpose a sence of collectivism effectly making us nothing more then drones to the state.
But I agree that a Paul/Johnson 2012 ticket is a good idea!
@SuperIllusiveman dude...ron paul could kick the tar out of Kucinich...im just saying...and btw, ron paul and kucinich are actually pretty close acquaintances, but what im saying is that Paul/Kucinich is an unbeatable ticket, because it would be bipartisan...would it have it problems? undoubtedly, but at least ron paul would get to office, w/ support from left and right...maybe its idealistic and obtuse, but hey...w/e, it is what it is...
@smartwarlord Look at the Presidents we've had the last sixty years. I am GLAD that Gary Johnson is "nothing like a President." That said he was elected Governor twice, before Ron Paul ran for President, so he has something going for him. Not many people know who he is. When they do, they will want him to win in 2012.
We've had great Presidents the last sixty years. We've had 2 failures: Carter and Obama. Both of these men have horrible politics and represent less than 5% of the US voting population, they get elected on false promises, nothing more. As for Johnson - he's just a modern version of Herbert Hoover.
I support in order: 1. Trump, 2. Paul, 3. Thune 4. Daniels 5. Pawlenty
I especially hate: Romney & Horowitz & Karger & Santorum
Trump is an American. By this I mean he won't allow dictators in other countries to screw us over. He'll fight OPEC and he'll know what to do when revolutions like Tunisia and Egypt arise. He won't make bad decisions, etc. He's also not a Neo-con like Hernan Cain, or a Libertarian.
@smartwarlord What would he have done with Egypt, Tunisia, or Libya? Also, what do you mean by "not allow dictators in other countries to screw us over"? Saddam was a dictator, and Trump called the Iraq War a "total disaster."
@smartwarlord He'll fight OPEC. What the hell does that mean? It's a joke. There is no fighting OPEC because OPEC doesn't need to be fought because they are not the problem. The press has sold you on a bunch of bullshit. We could be energy independent in three years if we could get our own gov't out of the way so Trump is just another dumb ass politician pandering to populist prejudices.
Gary please run for Presidency! We need a real person rather than a weak puppet, presidents we have had last many many terms. We need to fix this country you are the only one with the track record to REALLY do it. Yes for Johnson and Paul. What a great reform combination would that be for the country. .... I HAVE A DREAM!
