It is obvious. A new approach to fixing this world crisis is needed.
The whole problem needs to be taken on at once... It is a monumental task but can be done with good results. Setting a time frame of 6 months to completely remove the reactors and contaminated material to a safe area. Preferable one already contaminated. Bikini island for example... More iformation is required on tonnage of reactor and associated equipment to be moved..

More radioactive material was released during the Chernobyl accident, the reason is because of poor design. Chernobyl didn't have a solid containment vessel (or so I was told). So when the plant exploded most of the fuel was ejected into the atmosphere :( Fukushima has containment vessels... though I'm not saying we aren't in trouble, it just isn't an end of the world scenario...

Mate, quite simply and sincerely I assure you that everyone in Japan is going to die, and nothing they do with Fukushima is going to help. This is not a thing they can fix, they are just pretending and making a false front to keep people calm. The best thing they could do, would be to drop a nuke on EACH reactor. In answer to your questions 1) there is no risk of radiation exposure in North America at this time 2) telling people to stay in doors would hurt the economy and spread panic. I've never heard about cloud seeding, I'm gonna go look that up right now.

For us in the West, getting news is no longer a passive activity. You must actively seek it out on the internet and be able to deduce for yourself what is true and what is not. The corporate media are now simply an extension of the government and stories, such as Fukushima, can simply be killed by orders from the top. We're on our own.

It's not even a story in North America anymore, in spite of the fact that we have clouds of radionuclides floating over us, falling in the rain and covering our food supply every single day. It's NOWHERE to be found anymore. The problem solved itself and went away, just like the Deepwater Horizon spill. Our media is magic - all they have to do it shut up and the problem vanishes. @TEMPEWITNESS : They can't. There is water in the spent Pool. They need to remove the Spent Rods and put that somewhere else. If they remove the water, the rods will burn (bad!), so they are stuck with "band-aid" situation while the other reactors deteriorate further. Japan *Needs* to ask other countries to help, they cannot fix this. The band-aid situation will get harder and harder. They are running out of people who are willing to work there, so its a dire situation.
